Need advice on growing American Chestnut

I'm interested in getting Castenata dentata, not a hybrid. It's my understanding that their most likely longevity is maybe 10 years, but that's ok.

Would they be successful in East Tennessee zone 7 grown in a mixture of soil conditioner +Nature's Helper/Black Kow +store-bought topsoil +clay (native soil) in approximately equal volumes? That's my usual mix for planting. I know they have a deep taproot so the hole would be ~two feet deep.

I want to try seedlings, not my growing from seed. Can I acclimate the seedlings in potting soil in pots until late fall planting?

Am I better off getting 8-12" seedlings or larger ones?

I have the room for large trees, and any of their offspring. By the way, there are hickory, oak, maple, sweetgum, black gum, sourwood, dogwood, tulip poplar, black walnut, mulberry, hackberry, sumac, pine, and cedar trees that are doing fine with no amendments. The serviceberry trees get rust, but are too big for me to spray.

Any other advice that I don't know to ask?

Thanks in advance for any help.
