Cheese Daisies for party_music

These are buttery and spicy and very more-ish!

2 tablespoons sesame seeds, toasted until golden in a dry frying pan and cooled

1 1/2 cups/200g/7 oz finely grated cheddar cheese (choose something really sharp for preference)

1/4 cup/25g/1 oz grated Parmesan cheese

185g/6 oz butter

1 1/2 cups plain/all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon paprika (I must try this with smoked paprika next time I make them)

1 teaspoon salt (I generally omit this)

3 tablespoons poppy seeds

Optional- good pinch of cayenne

Preheat the oven to 350F/170C while you're making up the mixture.

Cream the butter and cheese together until smooth. Sift together the flour, salt if used, and spice/s. Blend the flour mixture into the butter/cheese mixture along with the sesame seeds.

Pipe daisy shapes onto an ungreased baking tray. Roll tiny balls of the dough in the poppy seeds and place one into the centre of each daisy.

Bake 12-15 minutes, until golden. Cool and enjoy.

You could also roll this out and cut it into straw shapes and bake them for 10 minutes (I never have, because I like poppy seeds :-) ).
