What color is your tub, sink, toilet?
Comments (9)From your pics, it looks like you are after a natural beach "beachy" look, not a "beachy" nautical or cape look. With that in mind, White is always a classic. Kohler's Sea Salt & Dune look like they would fit the bill nicely. Not so sure on Kohler's Honed White (online)--it didn't appear as soft a white as sea salt and dune. AS's linen looked a little too dark (online) IMO. Hope that helps!...See MoreWhat tiles to match Kohler Biscuit tub and toilet?
Comments (16)I tend to think the whole white fixture thing is kind of a fallacy. Pure white becomes something that is a "blank" that "goes with everything", when really the only thing that "matches" white is white. It's similar to the "neutrals go with everything" fallacy that leads to someone painting a bathroom with beige tile lime green, because beige is a neutral and goes with everything. I feel like it is something that our eyes have been trained to see, much like we will wear jeans with any color because jeans go with everything. But we would never wear pale blue or indigo blue wool trousers with some of the things we would wear denim in that exact shade with. It's the toilet, tub and the tile and the countertop that will dictate your choices, not just the fixtures. Unless you also pick white based tile with those white fixtures you technically are going to be limited to what goes with it. I've seen many a color scheme that would look better with something other than a pure white toilet plunked in the middle of it....See MoreBlue tub bathroom help!
Comments (30)We still have half paneled walls in the living room, they were painted gray but kept the decorative brown trim the same color. The top half of the wall is popcorn along with the ceilings. No carpet thank God but we still have the original wall oven not in avocado green but brown. Needless to say we have our work cut out for us so I've been window shopping for furniture and decor so I don't feel overwhelmed. We're getting the popcorn removed professionally at the end of the month so that'll be one thing we can check off the list. This our third house and we tend to buy ugly houses (last one was a 90s HUD home with muave EVERYWHERE) but this is the first one that is damn near a total gut. Knocking down walls, completely reconfiguring the kitchen and master bath. Why couldn't we have bought a victorian with all original things still in place?...See MoreColorful bathrooms (tubs, sinks, etc)
Comments (15)I loved the mint fixtures in the picture with the white tile! When dh and I were first married, we lived in this precious old townhouse in the city that was built in the 1940’s. It had one bathroom, and while the tub and pedestal sink were white…the entire room was tiled in peach square tiles with black tile trim pieces. The floor was black and white hex tiles that made flowers. We were 24, and had NO MONEY to change anything. i despaired over that bath. 😂 Some of our neighbors had different colors…I was jealous of the green/black folks bc that seemed the best to my eye. The pink/black was a horrible shade of pepto, and the blue/black was kind of odd, too. 😂 Now I think I am savvy enough to have done something better with it than what I did at the time- which was remove the black & white wallpaper the PO installed and SPONGE PAINT the walls PEACH. I am still experiencing residual shame😂...See More1973freeze
