Taking the Beach Cities exit from State Hwy 60 to S.H. 91 on March 6, to get back to Westchester: There are many different routes we can take between Palm Springs and our house in L.A. and so we try to take the ones with the least traffic on any particular day. I believe Big Bear mountain is in the background. Yesterday I took this route to return to Cathedral City, and there was still a small amount of snow on the tops of the mountains, but it was 91° when I got to Cathedral City, and so if feels like summer has returned. Time to start going back in the pool, which I did not do last winter, as it is too expensive to heat the pool when the weather is 72°.

I wondered whether it might be Northern Lights, Annie. They are beautiful, and keep changing in a shifting panorama, often covering most of the northern sky. I saw them on the prairies, seldom this far south, but I remember seeing them once in this area as I was growing up prior to moving to Saskatchewan at 17. ole joyful

We've had a cold winter with lots of snow. We didn't even get a January thaw; warmish temps only in February. With an abundance of icicles

Wishful thinking. It's still going to be awhile before these guys show up. It seems like we are about a month behind where we should be.
