Help with nightstand!

I have this furniture set. The bed, dresser and one nightstand. I would like second nightstand now tha we have moved and our new bedroom can fit it. But I’m not sure if I should get a similar style or just go completely opposite. The dimensions are H 25 W 27 and D 18

Matching bedroom sets are not really in style these days, but IMO it would look odd to have everything the same except one nightstand. Either get the the same one or replace the current nightstand and get two new ones in another look.

The width of the wall is 16 ft. I saw this nightstand and it's nice but it's smaller than I'd like. Century does have a lot of customizable options that would work, but it gets rather pricey. I was looking for something with one or two drawers and a shelf. I love the idea of the shelf. It's perfect for stacking books and adding a decorative bowl to hold smaller items. As for my bed, I'm going to get a new one so it's clean slate. I'm really building this around the dresser. They featured this dresser in a magazine and paired with a textured fabric, navy, nightstand which was really pretty. I'm just looking for more inspiration. Thank you!

My other question is, to look proportional to the king size bed, should the width/depth of the nightstand be of a certain size? My room is not that big, so I don’t want it to look crowded. But I also don’t want it to look proportionally too small.

You could go in a similar wood tone or get something in just about any contrasting style -- matchiness isn't considered desirable these days. Can you give us more to go on than color, like the syle of the bed or your general decorating style?

Yes, I could do a chest on one side! I'd like something wider and more substantial I think...also was thinking about how much I want to spend, probably $500 to $600 in total would be ok. I can spend more if needed but I'd Ike to start there and see if I can get anything for that amount.

Same one, path of least resistance. If you want to spice it up, you might consider painting them an accent color that goes with your bedroom decor.

Matching, or a similar style if they are the same height. If you can't find either of those options, then I would get a different pair of nightstands, either matching or similar color and same height.

Same one but if you can't fine one like it then get two new ones alike. It would look odd to have everything matching but that one piece!

Do you need two nightstands? If not, consider a nice floor lamp, perhaps in an antique gold to go with but not match the set. But I agree with others; sets are not the best. Still, you did buy it and (I hope) love it. So if you do want or need a nightstand and you like the color family of the set, maybe a golden / gold-ish one so it doesn't clash. Something like one of these (since I don't know if you want drawers or not):

Edited to Add: What about getting rid of the one nightstand (sell it on CL or donate it to your favorite thrift store) and getting two nightstands that are different from the set? You might consider searching out vintage ones that could be the stars of the bedroom. But let them reflect you.

I never have understood why a bedroom set comes with only one nightstand. You need 2 they don't need to match but since everything else does I'd match if you can still get it. I have never had a matching set of any furniture

I would ditch the one you have and look for something that coordinates without matching I really dislike all matching pieces in a space.

Thank you all! I do like a matching bedroom set even if it isn’t in fashion. I dont Think they sell this set anymore so I doubt I would be able to get the other night stand. I will probably go yhe Floor lamp route.

I kinda like that set personally. I also don't think it looks weird with one bedside table! Is it just you or do you share? If solo, I'd stick to one.

Is there even room for a bedside table on the other side of the bed? It looks like there's a corner right there.

How about a floating shelf that you stain to match the rest of the pieces?

I read "we" in one of your posts. Semetry is part of it but it is also giving both people sharing a room equality. It's Not only lighting but a place for glasses(reading and drink) and reading material. Feng shui. If not a couple having 2 shows you are open to sharing your space (unless you're not) since you say you have room for another just look for something that will complement the room with about the same height. If you need more storage a low dresser can do double duty. Or consider a desk.
