suzienj - I love your space. The textures are great, and that corner desk is so great! The black fabric is the one I am the most hesitant about, but I think I'll really like it. We have black furniture in other places in our house, so it will tie in well. I will post photos as I go. We have another meeting tomorrow with her, and honestly, given that it's a free service, I'm really happy. When we were building, I hired an expensive certified interior designer, and I wasn't pleased at all with her work (ended up "firing" her and making all the choices myself - she said she hated the distressed look that I love, but that's another long story). So, I guess the price tag isn't always an indicator of quality. Thanks, Jan

@homeinteriorswithease- update, I have purchased a new chair. I need a second opinion. It feels too small. The tending chairs are lower and I thought I would like it bc it swivels. But seeing it in the space I am worried it looks too small. What do you think? I wanted to get a smaller chair first to determine what width of nightstands I could get (24,26 or 30 wide).

I didn’t fully appreciate until much later than I had posted how very narrow that blank wall space is when it comes to passing through to the arched doorway. Meaning, I realize now you don’t have a lot of room to have shelves or table without creating an obstacle course. This might be a case where a wallpaper or a wall mural might be what you need — if you can find one that really suits the rest of the room, assuming you don’t want to paint. It also might be that if you found a wallpaper you liked it would make sense to carry it through down the steps, on the wall with handrailing, or wrap it around the wall to be a feature behind the small table and art arrangement you have in the entry way. My computer screen does not render colors very truly, so when I look at your photos it is hard for me to tell how much yellow or pink is the dominate hue on your walls presently, or gray or green undetones. So it is hard for me to suggest wallpaper. It seems to me however, that this is about the size of the pattern I think might look nice, given the size of your room otherwise. If wallpaper alone seems too bare, it would still be possible to find compact narrow tables or narrow floating shelves, and a tall thin plant or garden stool to add decoration.

well closet bid came in for material.. wow... $$$$ more than I thought and that with my husband doing it. so my budget just went down. I really want the closet redone.
