Hosta P 2018 ....
Comments (52)Laura, that color of the Himalayan Blue Poppy really catches the eye. They must not be easy to grow or more people would have them. I would have them, lol. It's very pretty in your garden! Saija, oh, it's Chiquita. I see you showed yours in the alphabet. It's a nice, bright yellow in spring! I'm looking for more yellows, but I wish they would stay yellow the whole season....See MoreHosta Container Grown 2018
Comments (26)steve..so sorry the deer came by..it's happened to me but not since they had a "deer hunt" at the big park (3900 acres) down the street a few years ago..scientists said the park couldn't support the population..the deer were coming to neighborhoods close to the park (like mine)..there were protesters but the hunt took place..my husband is not a hunter..I think it's sad but so are starving deer..it did cut the population..I haven't seen deer in my yard for years..that bed is loaded..it's going to be so lush.. great ideas everyone!...See MoreHosta Blue 2018 ...
Comments (43)Nicholsworth - yes, that is Euonymus. It has more gold in the spring, and is evergreen. There are variegated varieties that keep more contrast throughout the season. Thank you Oursteelers - that’s a favourite garden. One of the best parts is that it’s next to our swimming pool, so I get a great view from below. I love this thread - so many beautiful blues! I’ve got to find Deep Blue Sea this year!...See MoreHosta Companions 2018
Comments (52)I love all of the pictures. Lots of inspiration. My favorite combination with hostas is with my baptisia. I tucked the hosta (this one is a no id, I inherited him when we bought this house) in close, and the baptisia sort of creates a canopy over the hosta. The only catch is that around midsummer, I have to tie up/stake my baptisia so that it doesn't collapse on the hosta....See Moreoursteelers 8B PNW
