cornelian cherry- two varieties in one hole?

I am receiving a cornelian cherry from Stark this spring, and I know it needs a pollinator to produce. I'm wondering if I ordered another variety (looking at red star) if I could plant them together in the same hole, so that they seem like one shrub/tree. I know people do this with fruit trees sometimes. Anyone have any luck with something like this?
