HELP...would love this European White Oak coloring in vinyl flooring
Comments (14)The surface must be SMOOTH AND FLAT. The tiles must be COVERED in cement. To do that, they must be sanded, primed and then COATED in concrete. The cost is roughly the same as removing them (which is ALWAYS the right thing to do). And if you coat them in cement, you will RAISE THE FLOOR by another 1/4" - 1/2" + the new floor. Your concerns are correct. The coating the tiles is *possible but not the best way to go about it (but it is *easier on the guys)....See MoreHelp finding Cortec Stratum XL Waterfront Oak LVP Flooring
Comments (1)It is most likely discontinued. What the flooring industry DOES NOT tell clients is a "man-made" flooring products (like vinyl, porcelain, laminate, engineered hardwood, etc) have a limited run/availability. These products are mass produced inside of a short period of time and then discontinued by the manufacturer. That means they are available for roughly 18 months. And then they are gone forever. It's possible you could dig up 1-4 boxes if you need a repair. If you are looking to add more square footage (like a room or more) then the likelihood of finding the quantity you are after will be very low. One place to look would be WeShipFloors. They are a mass-retailer. They may have access to the product....See Moreugh, why is flooring SO hard? LVP/Laminate/Wood
Comments (10)We’ve chosen SuperCore, an SPC ( stone polymer composite) flooring for most of our home. We haven’t installed it yet, but I did order a full box, click it together and live on it for a few days in my kitchen. I love it. It has a rustic look with knots and graining and is not slippery. I have a 15 pound cat and he was playing on it with his flying feather toy and there were no scratches from his long claws. SuperCore is sold only online at WeShipFloors.com. You can order from them, and it is shipped to your home. It seems to be very DIY friendly. My husband and I are retired and plan to install ours. If you look at their website, there is some really good info about the stone composite floors and why they are preferable to WPC (wood polymer composite) flooring. The SPC, which has a limestone core, is more dimensionally stable and has better compression strength than the WPC which has a wood fiber core. The SPC is not affected by water. We decided on the SPC because we have several very heavy pieces of furniture, and the SPC will not be damaged by them. You will still need to put floor protectors on chairs and sofas to prevent scratching when moving them and have mats at your doors, but that would be the case with any flooring except maybe porcelain tile which is super hard and very hard on your feet, legs and back. When you go to their website, read SuperCORE 101. It has some good info. There is also a very long thread here on Houzz that has good info on SuperCORE —-Adura Max versus Coretec. It has some good photos of installs and reviews by actual homeowners. Good luck in your search. I’ve been looking at flooring for 14 months and am so happy I found the SuperCore....See MoreAny recommendations for LVP that resembles Blonde European Oak?
Comments (5)Sure, I will do my best. Correct me if someone don't agree. WPC came to floor market first as rigidcore luxury vinyl plank. It is lighter in weight and constructed with a softer and more comfortable core material, claiming waterproof, kid-proof and dog-proof. Its sales boomed. SPC is a newer version LVP with stone powder core, heavy and less labor intensive to produce. Most importantly it is cheaper in price, so it quickly dominates the market. ESPC has 2 layers of vinyl sheets sandwiching SPC core. it becomes more comfortable to stand on with deeper embossed wood grains and more realistic wood look. Of course, the cost goes up as well. There are a few other minor differences between WPC and SPC, like SPC handles bigger temperature swing and needs less expansion space. If your project is for normal residential use, those can be ignored in your decision making. They should all function well. Good luck searching for that perfect floor! A gentle reminder: Order a box if you 80 to 90 % decide on a floor, that is the only way to get a true idea what you floor looks like. The floor designs are getting wider and wider, it is hard to get a full picture from a sample board....See Moresandy feet
