I never assume that one's screen (member) name is their 'real' name. Have you thought of signing your posts with your 'first' name? Things to think about...your review thread, and all your past trading history. I think GW can change it for you, using your existing email addy, if you contact them via the Contact Us link found at the bottom of any page. Another option would be for you to just create a new member name, but you would either have to use a new email addy, or change the addy on the zackey account so as to free up the existing addy. If you did it that way, you could then put a blurb on the zackey member page telling that you now have a new member page...no explanation needed. hth. Sue

And the time before that and the time before that. Things have changed, or maybe it's just the ones I have been dealing with. I recently started receiving Social Security and the people I dealt with (including one guy on a 30 minute phone call while I was driving in the car) were knowledgeable and friendly. You maybe don't need to change your name with Social Security. Why not go ahead with the process to change your legal name but leave alone the existing account they deposit your monthly check to? Open new bank accounts with your new name and change over the other accounts you have using the authority of the legal name change. Or, maybe it's simple, ask SSA (as others have said) what to do. You've been thinking about this for 20 years and have done nothing?

No, not so long as you keep perpetrating the scare that one's real name may displayed. My comments discuss the simple fix too. There's no "real name" to see if done right. Using a pseudonym on the internet is not a new idea, it's been the best approach for decades. Everyone should do that as a matter of practice on every site possible and the problem goes away.
