Painting floor in Basement. would you?
Comments (19)I painted the concrete floor in our utility area with Muralo Quik-Tred about 20 years ago, then re-coated it maybe 7-10 years later. There are a handful of dime to nickel size worn spots in the main walk path I'd like to touch up, but other than that it looks great and I've been very happy with it. It's easy to vacuum & mop, I've even used an old electric scrubber on it. The laundry sink has overflowed & water went across the floor to the drain many times and the paint didn't budge. The local independent dealer I got it from is no longer in business so I'd have to drive about 45 minutes to get more, but it's worth it IMHO....See MoreDoes this painting work over my fireplace?
Comments (40)So I just came across this photo from EmilyClark's home. thought it could be an inspiration for yours given the same layout. ( I know your ceiling is taller, so you could go w/a nice vertical picture if you like. just showing other elements like window covering and furniture/and placement) from another angle, (the sofa faces the fireplace)...See MoreIt’s Not What You Have; It’s Where You Place It
Comments (59)When I sold my apartment people assumed we had staged it, but we didn't really change a thing except we probably kept the desk and mail more neat. Ida, I think that people are really losing their sense of the mind's eye and their ability to visualize and imagine despite being otherwise intelligent. Most people don't need that skill anymore and as knowledge gets more specialized, this just get shoved to the back. We also don't need to be able to spell correctly, or write grammatically in many fields anymore. Obviously one sees a lot of misspellings and and poor grammar in these forums. Or at the very least poor proofing, which still sort of proves it's not important. How many times have you read posts by people who misspell, have poor grammar, and don't seem very culturally literate who are building a 6000 square foot house with all the bells and whistles and no mortgage. It seems to happen enough. Obviously they are good at something. But being "educated" or well rounded is of less and less importance....See MoreIt’s another give away! Only this time it’s rice bags.
Comments (36)PS — kathyg, you’ve probably already thought of this, but if /when I am mailing these, I make the colorful cover, and sew the case leaving about a 2” opening so that the recipient can add their own rice with the help on a printer paper cone or funnel. Then they can just hand or machine stitch to close that opening. I use the cheapest white rice I can find, in a large bag at the grocery store. Shipping these empty, withou rice is much easier on your wallet. PS When the rice feels too broken down or toasted, I just cut off the top of the liner, empty out the rice. Wash the liner to remove rice dust, dry liner, then add replacement rice, and stitch the top back up. Bada Bing....See Moreelyse567
