Thank you @aziline!! I talked to Shaw. I really think they manufacture coretec also ... I didn't ask but one of the products they recommended was by Coretec. Anyway, the person I got in touch with has the same cabinets as me. She gave me a few suggestions. LARGO MIX PLUS GRAN SASSO JATOBA CASA PLUS GRIGIO LARGO MIX PLUS CAMPANIA JATOBA Edinburgh Oak I haven't tried any of these. The coretec she suggested has enhanced bevels that I have been avoiding. Therefore, it might have been at the flooring store but in the section I wasn't looking. I haven't taken home any of Shaw's products. I really haven't looked at Shaw. I didn't really want varied length boards but I will overlook that as long as I feel it will look good in the space. I also don't think the tile would look good on the whole floor. Maybe in the bathroom but not the entire space. Isn't remodeling suppose to be fun??!!

@millworkman Honestly, that might not be an option given the high number of people in the same position I am in. Much like the attempt to get a restoration company (where you get an answering service, are lucky to get a call back within 24 hours, when most reviews say they were out in an hour or less... some have messages saying "we cannot help anyone new we are backlogged"). I also don't know what it would cost. I'm hoping with the massive disaster, the adjuster will be more understanding. It doesn't help my husband is a salvager by nature and doesn't see the point of destroying things that are technically fine. (sigh) He feels keeping the upper cabinets is perfectly okay because he just wants it done and surely they can make it match... @latifolia Getting a lot of estimates right now is also challenging, as most good contractors were already busy with people remodeling due to COVID and low interest rates (and no homes on the market to move to here, I think inventory is 40% of what it usually is). Adding tons of apartment buildings, hotels, and schools that were damaged, along with all of the homes means you might be waiting a long time to get someone to get back to you, and the last thing I want is one of those contractors that works one day a week and rotates between 6 jobs or something (I have heard horror stories of that) because at least now my kitchen is somewhat useable, compared to when it is fully emptied for whatever we have done.

Dyan, What a diff. Very nice job. I bet they're very happy w/their work. Show them some of these photos I've listed to see if they could paint over that tile around the fireplace. I like the black mantle, but a stencil painted tile would look so much better. (they can retile later on down the road). They have a lot of tutuorials for tiles on the floor, but it could easily be done on those around that box. I did a quick photoshop with this one. I like the addition of the warm wood mantle over the black. did a little mantle styling. that pic actually reflects a woven pendant, so I gave you one surrounded in the black. I think that black lantern light is a bit harsh for the colors in this room. Same photo using the woven pendant light. Here's the photo I used. The tiles have a bit of black, but they have that griege tone and a soft blue gray. I think it's nice w/the flooring. Stencil is from Royal Design Studio If they like more of the black and white, they could do that as well. This link actually has a really good tutorial using diff paint. I thought these colors might work well w/the room colors. (is the wall color really that green looking in person?) do they plan on painting that kitchen island? I think if they just did that one, it would look great! they could add a bit of wood trim on the panel so that it looks finished, and nicely done. looks so much better! You can see the wood cabs in the background to get an idea of how it looks. they could do any size trim, beadboard, shiplap, (This is General Finishes Milk Paint in Snow White. I've used it. It's an acrylic paint. They could easily use this on the oak island and any added trim work. Just prime everything first w/Zinsser oil base primer. Always sand prior and after the primer) mdf pieces,,,,and it's relatively simple. Few hours would make a big impact. The island they could paint in a charcoal or black if they like. (paired w/black hardware)

As the colors are rendered on my computer, it looks like you did a good job choosing a cabinet stain that plays well with the honey oak. I don't mind the combo, really, and think that a wise choice in wall paint would help to pull it together more. I wouldn't say that one should never have different colors in adjoining spaces like yours, but they do need to match in warmth and tone. I don't think the kitchen and adjoining room do. You do have to work with the very pretty counter, though, which seems to have some cooler gray in it, and the backsplash perhaps even more? Look for a warmish-neutral greige that works with all the elements. Getting a color consult, if you have a local chain (like Sherwin Williams) that offers one, might simplify things. Even if you paint the honey oak, I think that you will still need to then work on unifying the rest of the elements with a good wall color. The brick doesn't bother me either- to my eye it is fairly neutral, even with the reddish tone - red can be a neutral when subdued like yours is.
