I read about the 'domestic violence' this morning, and was pretty upset and very disappointed in him. It may have been one of those incidents where the media blows it all out of proportion, at least I hope that's what it is. His wife didn't press any charges, so that's a good sign, I think. About 'backstories', some background info is nice to know, and should be included, I think. But I wish they wouldn't blow it all out of proportion like they do. A few seasons of AGT ago, there was a young female singer who was from a town within 20 miles of where I grew up. Naturally, I started out with high hopes for her. But every appearance, they made such a big issue of how poor she was, could only get 'menial' type jobs, such as waiting tables, had been raised by foster parents, hadn't seen any of her family in years, etc. It got to be pretty sickening to listen to. So I looked her up on the AGT website, and the facts were presented quite differently. Yes, she waited tables, in a very classy high-end restaurant. She hadn't seen her family, by her own choice, she hadn't been 'abandoned' by them as had been implied, she owned her own home, drove a very nice car, etc. Seems like it would have put her in a much better light if they had just presented the facts and not turned it into some kind of sob story. Basic backstory facts are fine, good to know. But don't turn it all into sob stories and dwell on them on and on, ad infinitum, ad nauseum. Rusty

Well, I agreed with Simon on that big red X, that guy didn't need to be there, he was boring, not funny at all. I really do like Samuel J Comroe, the comedian with Turrets Syndrome. He's cute, he's funny, and he looks like a thoroughly likeable young man. I have to admit, I think the 50 states got it wrong, again! The opera singer (I don't remember his name) obviously has a very good voice and talent, but I don't think he was the best act on last night. And I'm glad Howie gave the buzzer to Angelica Hale! That little girl is a dynamo! It's interesting to hear how being on AGT has changed their lives, too. Uptown Gal, I'm curious about how or where you heard that 'they' are thinking of canceling "The Good Doctor", and who 'they' might be. I agree with Georgysmom's thinking on that. Would hate to see it go away! Besides, there is just too much going on now in all of the characters' lives for it to be canceled. (Isn't there?) AAA, I do as you do, record all the shows I like so if I miss one for some reason, I can 'catch up' later. "The Curse of Oak Island" is one of my favorites, too. I also have a bunch of the Christmas movies recorded to watch this summer when there is nothing good on, and the temps are in the 3 digit range. Rusty

Oh, wow. The good acts tonight were all really good! Thankfully, there was only one bad one (Monkey) - that we saw. Having said that, I will add that I do not like the "danger" acts like the crossbow guy. I don't consider what he did to be a talent. Yes, it takes guts and nerves of steel - or maybe just a devil-may-care attitude about life - but it's not a talent. I thought the very first act, Greg Morton, would be a bomb, but that guy was spot on. Eric Chien, the magician, was awesome! Fifteen-year-old Sophie Pecora was charming, and brave. Personally, I hope she doesn't always sing songs she has written, though, but I'm guessing she will, since she has posted a lot videos of her songs on You Tube. Patrizio Ratto, the pianist from Italy, was a surprise. You could tell how bored Simon was before Patrizio even started playing Für Elise, but then... wow! The dance troupe from Mumbai, V Unbeatable, brought me to tears. Jackie Fabulous was a hoot! Soooo much better than the trailer trash comedienne last season. Gingzilla, the 7-foot Ginger-zilla, was fabulous!! I wonder if that's his real hair - it's gorgeous, and he's a cutie, too. And his voice! As I said, above, I can do without acts like The Human Fuse. Last, but certainly not least, was Kody Lee. Again, tears. He was awesome. I mean, to be blind and autistic, and sing like he did is one thing, but to play the piano so well, too! Wow. Looking forward to next week!!

There were a couple that I was glad didn't make it through, but no one I was particularly rooting for. Drake Millegan is still my #1 favorite, with Chapel Hart 2nd in line. I've got a feeling they will probably win the whole thing, though. They've already stirred up a lot of interest. I saw on Facebook that they've been invited to sing on the Grand Ol' Opry, and with a chance like that, they don't need the AGT win. Rusty
