Need to replace hall lights
Comments (94)And they've already shipped. Guess the QS (Quick Shop) designation is not a joke. So glad that's over. But also glad you guys are willing to bounce ideas around. Mayflowers' Capitol fixture definitely gave me pause, less $$$ too. The decider was the greater wattage potential in the Thurman. Basically, that was it....See MoreWhy do designers dislike flush mounts?
Comments (36)Corinne Masterson oh, we loooove our ceilings. (only downside was zero insulation up there. getting it requires removing the roof or covering up the ceilings, so that was an eye opener.) but yes, they're beautiful and they make the space. they were practically the entire reason why we bought this house! if you do a google image search for "modern flush mounts" there are some really cute ones. so many "non boob lights" to be had. if you're worried about light quality, keep the bulbs super dim and actually light the space with other sources - floor / table lamps, etc. so, basically the ceiling light would mostly be decorative. I have a cute ceiling light in my TV room that I never turn on unless I need bright light. but honestly, I think it still looks cute when it's off. it doesn't bother me (and I can get weirdly picky about some details)....See MorePlease help me with my 90s kitchen!

Comments (17)@HU-187528210 I think that’s a bit too big, however i saw something similar from West Elm that I liked! It claims to have a minimum hanging height of 11.7 inches, which would be okay I just couldnt go any lower with the 8 ft ceilings. The only thing that worries me is theres no shade and the bulbs are clear.. it makes me think the light would be too harsh. (I also know nothing about lights so there’s a good chance I’m TOTALLY wrong 😂) And as for the style I’m going after.. Idk if you’ve ever heard of Maison Trouvaille? I’m not an interior design pro but I think he would be considered ”Nordic?” Very neutral colors, minimalism, lots of plants, natural woods, linens etc. Here’s some pictures of his work. Some might consider it boring, but I feel like my life is really busy and hectic I just want my home to feel peaceful and calm so I can clear my mind 😂...See MoreCarmen Pangelinan
