Kinda lickin' it

When I was a child, I used to pretend I was a tiny person living in the moss I found in the woods. I imagined I was small enough to look up at the moss like looking up into a tree. I also wrote stories about fairies.

Hmmm. Anyway, I still search out moss and lichens and marvel at their color and intricacy.

joanmn, on yesterday's 'show you'r/mine' thread you commented on my picture showing the ceramic Holstein cow in my window view. You ( I am 99 % positive that it was you) who posted my all time favorite picture here at The Table. That was probably 10 or more years ago. It was of a nearly white cow lounging in a field of Blue Bonnets. I asked your permission to print it. I did, framed it and hung it on a wall. Then a friend who was deeply enamored of it expressed how it would be perfect in her kitchen which she had just wallpapered with a cow themed border. She now owns that picture.

If you still have it, would love to see it here again.

I hadn't seen the white cow one before so I did that search and what a bounty of beauty was discovered!

Bob - that was one of my favorite childhood lichens or moss. We called it Reindeer Moss but that certainly could have been a made up name.

Iris....I know....she was chowing down on a willow when I found her. There's plenty for her to eat.

I suddenly realized that not only did I write a sentence, I named each item in the photo - "squirrel", "lichen", "an ear of corn". LOL Goodnight, folks.

I'm guessing that having twins will do that to you. :)

Those tiny red topped lichens/moss are known to me as "British Soldiers."

My daughter found this in the yard yesterday. A plastic Easter egg.
