I’m case anyone sees this post and is curious… here’s the end result. I haven’t decorated yet or installed new logs, but love how it turned out.

I kind of like your fireplace rock, the metal trim not so much. you could paint wood wall a warm grey or white from the stone and find a paint that works on fireplace frame and it might look good!

Remove stone to make wall all consistent , keep the mantel or change out to something that's consistent w new kitchen
