I was just looking at the eiffel tower chairs on overstock.. I think they have an interesting modern look with a small footprint. My worry though would be how they'd stand up to daily use. As for artwork.. there are so many options but kids love animals. I'd look for some interesting artwork that your daughter will like looking at for hours a day that also incorporate animals.. I know many dislike them but I love the William Beard dancing bear prints. :) Good luck to your daughter!

Great idea to make a seat cushion for the dining room, if the height of the built-in drawers is a good height, and they're sturdy - it'll help save room. Would putting the TV to the right of the built-ins in the LR make sense? Could you see using them for storing DVDs, books, etc? There are so many windows in the rooms (SO not a problem to have!) :-) that if you put it on that wall, you wouldn't be looking at a nearby window that may cause glare. What is the height of the wall next to the front door below the window? I wondered if a table of narrow chest might be good there, to drop keys and mail on. I could see wall mounted coat hooks on that short wall behind the door, but think as it is opened that the door would hit the coats. I don't see any closet near the front door - is there one? I suggested the coat hooks instead of a free-standing coat rack, as the racks can be very tipsy.

The first order of business is to figure out what your style is. Put in top search box: eclectic, rustic, transitional, etc. What colors do you like? Take your inspiration from a favorite piece of fabric or accessory. The wall looks olive green and the brick looks like a rust color. The horse pic just fades into the background. I really think you need something dramatic there. Either play up the olive green by putting a strong bright medium olive green in the picture, or play up the rust by putting a strong light to medium rust in the picture. The black and white of the table and the rug don't go with the rest of the room (black and white are cool colors and the other colors are warm). Another option is to get a pic that has both a bright olive green and a bright light rust.
