Opening blister pacs was my first response but I'll say

wrapping Christmas gifts.

I missed the first question - drat.

Apparently everyone is assuming (as I do) that the question is asking about accidental nicks & cuts? Because I've been thinking about it, and remembered a book I read about people (mainly teenagers) who cut themselves as a way to relieve stress or tension. Sometimes a way to punish themselves or a way to make themselves feel better.
