Do You Like Your Deck Mounted Soap Dispensers?
Comments (22)Enduring, I would think about two. One for lotion, one for soap. But, I forgot, is this your Master bath, or a guest one? Unfortunately, for a guest one, you may have the eternal problem of having to explain which is which, or letting each guest experiment each visit... I actually bought our kitchen sink one from HD. I had gone there intending to buy one to match our Blanco Rados faucet, and the sales guy actually talked me into purchasing the no-name $14 one hanging on a rack. We've had it for 7 years (CANNOT believe our kitchen reno is 7 years old!), only clogged once, and DH took it all apart and cleaned out the gook...took me awhile to stop reefing on that poor ol' spout that was no longer plugged! So, the point of my post is that you don't necessarily need to spend the big bucks to find a dispenser that will work well and look good. (The NN one from HD looked very much like the Blanco one that cost 10X more!) Old pic showing soap dispenser:...See MoreAll-purpose soap for soap dispenser
Comments (9)I recently quit using my favorite for dishes (Dawn). My hands are very dry and sensitive. I bought Ecos Ultra Hand Dishwashing at Costco. It came in a 2 pack --Natural Pear and Natural Grapefruit. The pear is a faint fragrance and does a decent job cleaning. It is easier on my hands. Haven't tried the grapefruit yet. The bottle says 100% all natural, petrochemical free, neutral PH, easy on hands, derived from coconut oil. Haven't tried it in the pump yet -- but will when the pump runs out of the current soap. Although it isn't quite as good as Dawn, I'll buy Ecos again. Thanks for starting this thread. I'll be watching to see what others use....See MorePros/cons of built in soap dispenser?
Comments (31)didn't have one installed on granite installation. wished i had. I am disabled, (wheelchair, arthritis, fatigue issues), so going under the sink for the bottle is more work for me, and with a modern kitchen design, don't want clutter of bottle on counter. Did have moen auto detection (senses when you put your hands in front of it. One can also disable feature, so win win). Godsend. Aides like it too. Figure is next buyer doesn't like it, they can get their own. Will be installing soap dispensers in kitchen and bathrooms myself soon, though I doo like the bathroom auto dispenser , yet it takes up space....See MoreDo you like having a built in soap dispenser?
Comments (46)I had the same dilemma, and I asked about it in the thread below. I did not get one. I keep the dish soap under the sink. I was all about ease of cleaning, and I didn't want another thing to clean around. That said, I have friends who have three dispensers next to the sink in their beautiful, functional kitchen: one for dish soap, one for hand soap, and one for hand lotion. They and I represent the two ends of the soap dispenser spectrum. Soap Dispensers Redux...See Morevinmarks
