Comments (41)Wooo!!! Cat, I am stuck at home because of the snow storm so wandered around here not looking at anything in particular and came upon your thread. I totally agree with you on the shower curtain choice. Regardless of whether I have the money to spare or not, keeping those suckers clean is a nuisance over time. We have a glass shower door that was installed back in 2003 and I can't tell you how much I hate cleaning it. Not that the door is all that dirty, but a shower curtain is way easier, and you can change the look/style whenever you feel like it. Can't do that with a pricey shower door. Anyway, everything looks lovely as usual, including the "prom" dress :-) Love, love those circular tiles, and the floor tiles that look like fabric. Gorgeous. What colour is that again? It looks greyish on my monitor....See MoreRestoration Hardware vanities?? Overstock.com vanities??
Comments (6)Re: Restoration Hardware - I have purchased a large, dark brown framed mirror from them, a surface mounted wooden medicine cabinet, much of my cabinet hardware and two Bistro Wall Sconces just arrived. I've also seen a lot of their furniture in their Short Hills NJ mall showroom. I am impressed with the quality overall; it's not cabinet-maker quality furniture, but it's very nice and a LOT less than having the same items made to order. I haven't personally ordered any of their vanities, and don't think they have them on display in the store either. They look really nice, and are a nice deal considering the sinks and stone tops are included! FYI, there can be an issue with delivery time, if you're in a rush. My sconces were backordered for over a month. Lucky for me, this saved me money since they arrived yesterday and today I got an email from them alerting me to the fact that, among many other items, my sconces are now on sale and they happily credited me the difference when I called. I'd call them to see if it is even possible to have deliver within your short timeframe. Your best bet might be to call around to local bath showrooms to see if they have any floor-model vanities they'd like to sell and see if they are to your taste. (Not likely, but I don't know how else you'll get vanities so quickly.) Good luck to you!! Comments (9)gowelch, I wasn't sure this was you until I rechecked on your original post and saw that you wanted me to get back to you. Our vanity hasn't arrived yet and when it does it's going to the builder's warehouse since we're not ready for installation yet so it may be a while before I can give you a first hand review. It seems there is a division of opinion in responses to your original post as to the quality of Restoration Hardware vanities. If you were planning on putting this in a heavy use bathroom for children I would hesitate. The drawers and doors don't have the blumotion glides or hinges so I guess children would have the tendency to bang them around. Or if you store heavy things in your bathroom drawers maybe that would be a problem but my hairdryer is the heaviest item in my bathroom and the Hutton drawers seem perfectly capable of holding something that big and heavy. Other than this type of consideration I wouldn't worry. Just like beauty, quality is in the eye of the beholder and I know it's hard to make a decision without seeing and touching something firsthand. Wish I could help more. I...See MoreDoes anyone put heat lamps into bathrooms anymore?
Comments (59)Sure, Build.com and other sites sell them. Found one in about two minutes. Here But they are not going to work for a sloped ceiling. No one probably makes one that swivels like you would need for that application. Heat in a radiant form, as in a light bulb heater, travels in a straight line and you will be heating whatever surface the ceiling pitch has the bulb pointing at. You need to build out a triangular box to put the fixture in. You can drywall it so that it is not as obvious as mine was. It is not a great picture, but in the upper left side of the photo you can see the maple triangular box that gives my light fixture a level surface to hang on....See MoreRelated Professionals
