gowelch, I wasn't sure this was you until I rechecked on your original post and saw that you wanted me to get back to you. Our vanity hasn't arrived yet and when it does it's going to the builder's warehouse since we're not ready for installation yet so it may be a while before I can give you a first hand review. It seems there is a division of opinion in responses to your original post as to the quality of Restoration Hardware vanities.

If you were planning on putting this in a heavy use bathroom for children I would hesitate. The drawers and doors don't have the blumotion glides or hinges so I guess children would have the tendency to bang them around. Or if you store heavy things in your bathroom drawers maybe that would be a problem but my hairdryer is the heaviest item in my bathroom and the Hutton drawers seem perfectly capable of holding something that big and heavy. Other than this type of consideration I wouldn't worry. Just like beauty, quality is in the eye of the beholder and I know it's hard to make a decision without seeing and touching something firsthand. Wish I could help more.

So I take it you don't have Restoration Hardware stores near you? If you do, you should be able to see the Hutton in person. At least, all of the RH stores around here have it on the floor to look at.

I am just concerned with the quality of the workmanship.
I live in Northern CA. There is a few Restoration Hardware stores around here, but they don't have any big vanities on display. If I order it, and don't like the quality of it. I will have to pay for shipping (will be expensive) to return it. I can't return it to the store.

I have a Hutton double sink base (that I am adapting to a a single) sitting in my dining room waiting to be installed in the new master bath. The quality is top notch, solid construction and a good consistent finish (espresso). The drawers... yes they are a bit stiff. The glides are not very high quality, but that is the only issue I see, and it's easily fixed by replacing the glides which is cheap and easy. If they don't loosen up after a little use, I'll swap them out.

I agree with codnuggets. I have the Westwood vanities in my living room waiting to be installed, and the drawers are a bit stiff, but they still open and close just fine. The vanities themselves are beautiful and well-constructed. Everyone who sees them comments on how nice they are.

WE have had a terrible experience with RH and this product. Ut is very pretty but it came with the side cracked. It was going against a wall so we let that slide. But when the backsplash was almost 1/4 inch short (not flush with the countertop) that was really too much esp when the RH customer service told us (i) it was designed that way, and (2) one of three pictures on the website showed the discrepancy!. WE asked why it would be designed in such a way that water could leak out through the 1/4 space onto dry wall and wood in bathroom? WE were told that the RH specialists designed it that way. ! It looks terrible and we will have to figure out a way around this. DO NOT ORDEWR THIS VANITY OR ANYTHING ELSE FROM RH!!

I have to concur. We have tried everything under the sun to get these drawers to work. Our latest is to now remove every bit of the hardware and replace it all. Fingers crossed.

It's a shame. I thought they were better than this.
