Ideas to improve colonial exterior wanted
Comments (13)I think the house needs bigger windows on the ground floor. Maybe a bay or bow? Because the door is to the right, you have to make it more important and something on the front of the house has to make it look like the front, not the back. Just not enough windows, but a bay will cost you about $6K installed. Just did one in Minnesota. Also, I don't mean to be argumentative, but you want a lake house idea, but you're showing us your very-citified-colonial inspiration photo. Thank you all so much. Your advice and opinions are much appreciated....See More70's Mediterranean Colonial Exterior Remodel - HELP!
Comments (3)I would put in a copper awning that fits in the arch and is attached to the wall within the wood section. Something small. The examples below are both poor, but give you an idea. Your biggest problem, IMHO, is the muddy color the wood is painted. I'd go with cream to accentuate the feature, brown to diminish them. Don't add fake windows or brick. It will cheaper the look of your house, which is quite nice....See Morezthibault
