I would say it depends on how you feel about the chipped tile being there. Is it going to bug u to no end? I allowed for my backsplash travertine to have flaws, travertine has pits, holes and such in it anyways but not my floor that is porcelain that was installed same time. If you can live with it I bet no one would notice. We are always pickier with our on stuff. At least I am

Hi remodelfla-- The marble is also from Artistic Tile. I think its 4x16, Calacatta Gold marble and chair rail. The glass tile is Artistic Tile Opera Glass in Puccini Purple (it's blue) and the floor tiles are Ann Sacks Savoy Pennyrounds in Rice Paper. All are grouted using Laticrete Silver Shadow (light silvery gray). The toilet is a Toto Soiree in Cotton White, sink is Toto Lloyd undermount, and the sink faucet and shower fixtures are Jado, the IQ line. Except for the rainhead, which is Grohe. We did 98% of it DIY-- the glass tile and the pennyrounds were a bear to install (I could relate to the poster above who can't help but notice the askew tiles!). Good luck!

Hi Writersblock -- thanks for the eye candy! These colored vintage tile baths are one of the few design overlaps Mr V and I share and I'm always happy to see original-recipe versions or what others do today. We're just wrapping our second old-house bath reno and we definitely take inspiration from these beauties (and old plumbing ads). [Lower bath is pretty sedate with pale yellow tile, but for the upper it's what I'm calling deconstructed deco and there's a big bold wall filled with blues and greens from the 20s/30s!] We do chicken out with white toilets, etc though -- though if we weren't worried about cast iron on the 2nd floor a 3-piece Ming green set would have gone in!

Exactly! btw. I sound like a total rube I know, but no one ever told me I have to squeegee my glass to keep it from etching. Get the girls a squeegee and have them go to town after every shower. It will keep the grout cleaner as well as save you from having to see permanent spots on the glass door.
