I have no clue what this bird is.

Gulls--even in parking lots--remind me of the shoreline I miss.

Looking after the birds is a part of every day for my DH. Even the predatory birds and the much maligned crows. Every one has to eat. They are all part of the scheme of life.

A pair of Cooper's Hawks (I think) nested near our house this past summer. I believe they were attracted by the abundant gray squirrel population and decided it was a good place to raise a family.

This picture doesn't do justice to the number of birds. There must have been thousands. They pooped on my brand new vehicle and then they pooped on me. I was laughing too hard to be mad.

Wow--what were they, Adella? That's a lotta birds! LOL

The black birds in my picture were grackles.

I have seen large groups of grackles filling trees in late fall but never coming to an open area like a parking lot. That is really remarkable!!!
