Air plants dying, and I can't figure out why

I've owned airplants for about a year now, and I've lost one here and there. Lately, however, they seem to be dying at a higher rate than normally, and I am perplexed.

I'm careful not to overwater them or soak the bulbous ones, and I provide them with sufficient amounts of light and air circulation. And yet, these four - including my favorite, the streptophylla - are either irreversibly dying or well on their way (a bulbosa that's not pictured here is also in poor shape).

I live in the Henderson, NV area, which is technically in the northern part of the Mojave Desert. My xerographicas are doing fine, so I'm curious as to whether my climate is just too dry for the mesic plants. Or perhaps there's a fungus that's spreading around my plants? It's probably something I'm not doing or shouldn't be doing, but I can't figure it out.

I'd really like to get some more experienced eyes to look at them and see if you can identify what the cause(s) of all these casualties is. Thank you in advance.
