Leaf death-- I can't figure out what's wrong

I've read previous posts, used the problem solver 2, and read my gardening book, but I can't figure out what's happening.

Entire stems of leaves near the bottom of one plant are dead. Also some upper leaves, mostly dying at the tips of the stem first.

Thank you so much for your help! I enjoy reading the forum very much.

I can't see any browning or bacterial ooze when I cut the stem open (but I haven't seen the inside of any other tomato plants).

So far no fruit problems, and it seems to be mostly affecting one plant, although it looks like something is wrong with my potted ones and the nearby ones too.
