Anyone with a 2 inch backsplash or no backsplash?
Comments (21)Hi. We installed out kitchen in 2012. We still haven't chosen or decided on a backslpash - it's the painted wall. I have a creamy Egyptian marble, - don't remember the name. I like unstructured European vintage-y kitchens. Many of them don't have backsplashes either. My stainless range has a stainless backsplash directly behind it. I had picked out some mini-clear glass subway tile for the backsplash that coincidentally matches my Prescott Green paint color perfectly but what if I decide to change wall color one day? Just this week I started thinking maybe I made my backsplash tile decision three years ago which was to have none. Our marble installers tried very hard to discourage us from marble in the kitchen but I have not regretted it. All those kitchens in southern Europe can't be wrong. FYI - If you are considering glass backsplash look at a product call 3-Form it comes in an amazing variety of colors, textures and imbedded items, two good friends used it in their kitchens. http://www.3-form.com/ Do what speaks to you in your home. Comments (7)A white hex but contrast the grout a bit. Saying that I’m not sure how many colors it may be avail. It’s a very cool look. Your kitchen has a bit retro vibe w the white slab doors and simplified layout. I will be hinting at my age but in the 1960’s this is what there was. Maybe a pendant light over a peninsula ... still w chrome hardware . No islands yet. Maybe a little open living area beyond w some shag carpet And a sectional. Your kitchen has a bit of a throwback like that and you can have a bit of fun maybe w a colored hex . I say hex because because it’s an older shape but the newer versions are really interesting so you get old plus new ....and not overwhelming. So add color and so good for your plain space (maybe!!!!) mauve or taupe . If you had white counters imagine orange hex tiles...( yes)...See Moreneed help deciding on a backsplash!
Comments (28)I recommend Winchester Tile Company www.winchestertiles.com often and your kitchen strikes me as a perfect match. They have a gazillion options in terms of size, color - I just picked two photos at random: (I'm not suggesting the quilt tiles that came along with the white photo). The second color, by the way, is Hibiscus....See MoreKitchen reno - need help picking tile, backsplash & countertop
Comments (8)your pics are super tiny and sideways. have no idea what the kitchen layout looks like because we can't see it. forget the backsplash tile for now. that comes last after everything is installed. (and that arabesque mosiac is a tad outdated) Ditto the hardware. wait. the style you picked is better suited to a more modern cabinet. color is fine but that super long handle is better suited for large drawers or pantry cabinets. what color white are you painting? you're getting dark floors but tile in the kitchen? why not continue w/the wood? I just painted all my cabs and put down hardwood. I love it. Right now, get one of your doors painted. Take that door with you (and your flooring piece) and go pick out a countertop you like. nothing else matters until you do that. Using the wood flooring will open up many more options than that porcelain tile you picked. post better pics. show us where the wood floor is w/the dining room. (can you get more of that wood? maybe in chevron design? )...See MoreMint Design Studio
