Tension Shower Rods Anyone???
Comments (7)I have a tension rod in my tile shower with both a decorative curtain and cloth liner on it and have had no problems with it coming down at all. I also have a tension rod in the guest fiberglass shower stall and have no problems when it's used. I don't think I've ever had one as long as would be required for a bathtub though, and wonder how well a longer length would hold the weight of a wider curtain and deal with potential sag in the middle that might drag it off the wall?...See Morehow to put tension shower curtain rod back together?
Comments (20)I am in Sweden dealing with an old tension rod that only pulls apart. It won't shorten. Thanks to these posts I pulled everything apart and sent the rod with the spring down the tube and it worked. The curtains are up in the kitchen now! Thank you everyone!...See MoreAlternatives to el cheapo tension curtain rods
Comments (7)I can help you. HD sell these long rods, I believe they are actually called electrical rods. They're real strong and don't require any support. My neigbor told me about these when I needed something similar for my sliding glass doors. They aren't disgusting to look at either. They are galvanized steel rods. The best part, they're cheap. Only costs about 5.00 for 10 feet. They are really long so you can cut them to whatever length you need. You could probably put finials on them too. Mine are under a cornice board so I didn't care what the ends look like....See MoreHow Sturdy Are Curved *Tension* Shower Curtain Rods?
Comments (30)I would love to know what others have done to tighten so their Moen curved tension rod is tighter; it may have simply been the dimensions we were dealing with. It did, however, make a huge difference in the "roominess" feel of the shower. I got the bar to convince my dad that we needed to go with a curved bar for him instead of a straight one. He was NOT convinced! I would consider doing what we did: buy one, carefully open box, slide the clear plastic end protectors toward the center of the rod instead of cutting them off, and then try to tighten it enough so it stays level. If it does not work, put it back into the original packaging and return....See Morehazelcraddock
