Paint Color Flow Advice Needed - Pics Included
Comments (2)"Plus, you may have over-accented and you need to rethink the color distribution plan as a whole. As in why are the colors where they are." Thanks for the reply. Can you elaborate on this and offer some suggestions? I am not very good with colors...thanks. I just realized, too, that my description on one of my pictures is misleading. Here is our current accent wall where you can see some contract between the main wall color and accent wall color, but in daylight the contrast is almost non-existent: And here is a picture showing new, darker accent colors we are sampling. We will likely darken the LR accent color to give us the contrast we are looking for but we are not sure what to do with the green in the kitchen. Thanks for any additional advice or recommendations you can make....See MoreHelp arranging living room (pics included)
Comments (53)Thanks for that photo, val, it's helpful and I can definitely see doing a slipcover for this chair. DS is home on break and helped me move furniture around. We tried a variety of arrangements. I think the purple chair is too bulky for the space. What do you think? As far as how many people we need to seat, usually we host groups of 5-6 at a time. My bridge group is 12, but we don't need casual seating, just room for 3 bridge tables. Option #1: Couch where it was before away from the wall, add purple chair and side table. #2 Couch moved back against the window, rug is no longer centered, with purple chair. #3 Loveseat with side table and lamp. This seems cramped to me. #4 Loveseat centered on window with long couch going across the room. This was not good on the other side of the long couch, too close to the opposite wall to pass by comfortably. #5 Loveseat moved down towards fireplace, arms overlapping a little. #6 This arrangement was a little better as far as walking space. #7 Everything is pushed towards the fireplace more than in the original arrangement, which gives more area at the entrance to the living room. I don't think it's as inviting as having the non-L arrangement. #8 I don't think the purple chair works in the corner facing the back of the couch....See MoreNeed advice about shower leak (pics included)
Comments (4)A couple things you can do: 1) Make sure the drain holes in the horizontal track are all open. 2) Caulk where the frame meets the wall. 3) Caulk the inside corner where the the horizontal track meets the vertical portion, since water can get into that hairline gap. 4) Caulk that open gap you have. For all of these, I would use 100% silicone (or "silicone II"). It can be messy for a novice, so use masking tape for both sides. Apply, then wet your finger and smooth it/remove excess (wiping finger with dry paper towel), then immediately peel away the masking tape (have a trash can ready). Then wet finger again and "tool" it lightly (smooth it) one more time if it needs it. Let dry. Enjoy....See MoreNeed advice on rug for 14x 18 living room with adjoined dining room
Comments (4)Thanks so much for your reply. I was trying to coordinate and yet not compete with the adjoining dining room rug which has similar colors but much bolder. If you zoom into the picture below you can see a patch of it in the right hand corner opposing the sofa. Your suggestion are really nice and appreciated. I see that you used a 9x12 rug. Does you think a 10x14 would be too big?...See More- 5 years ago
