Murraysmom's red bows reminds me of my gifts I got yesterday. I had Pat over for dinner last night. She came in bearing a gift for me and wanted me to open it after we ate. I was at her home for dinner a couple of weeks ago and we had a great evening playing Sequence, a board game. I got a lovely warm cozy nightie that has cardinals on it. She bought one for herself a while ago and loves it and couldn't wait to give one to me. As well, she got a picture of hubby from my FB photos and got it made into a tree ornament. And my very own game of Sequence.

Italian linen shirt and pants that I made in 1986 with fabric that my sister bought for me in Rome. This was when I used to dye my hair very dark. I purposely offset the pocket placket so that it would contrast rather than blend in with the shirt. Here's a shirt I made for my brother - I always line up patterns for patch pockets on shirts.

Last August I saw this plant growing along the highways in my area. I found it very interesting, as every stem comes from the roots, with no offshoots from any of the stems. As I saw them every weekday during my commute, I started seeing them closer and closer to home. An online search lead me to believe it is called "Telegraph Weed". It does grow very tiny, insignificant flowers, but it's the shape of the leaves and it's growing habit that draw my eye. They stand about 4 feet high. And what exactly is a weed? I like this definition: A weed is simply a plant out of place. By this definition, any plant could be a weed if growing in a location where it is not wanted
