Post Brown Patch - Now What??
Comments (2)TTTF + heat = brown patch (period). No fun! I have a beautiful TTTF that gets BP every year, and every year I learn A LOT more about prevention and treatment. When you combine fungus with drought especially it is very possible to have the crown die. Don't kid yourself. It can die. If the conditions are bad and the fungus persists then it can move to the crown by itself and kill it. Fungicides should be sprayed at the first sign (like you said) of the disease. Professional products are the only way to go there. The homeowner products are close to worthless. The professional products actually end up being cheaper but application is no easy job. As far as it coming back, again, it all depends on if it is truly dead or not. Last year was really bad (and this year was worse here but I treated) and about 93% of the yard came back just beautiful at least by the spring. I really doubt that everything will "come back" this fall. Most should next spring. Sorry no experience with the Billy Goat overseeder. I've always aerated multiple times then seeded. Be careful with applying herbicides and the timing of your seeding. My seedlings really struggled last year because I pushed it a little too much with Trimec, I think. Unfortunately, I can only offer you bad news when it comes to brown patch. It comes down to fungicides - preemptive applications. Basically, if you wait until there are obvious brown patches, then spray, those brown patches will only come back after temperatures fall, and conditions improve. If you spray before things look obvious, you should be able to keep the true green as long as you stay on top of it, treating every 28 days roughly when conditions are bad. I'm sure you know all the cultural practices to follow, and I'm sure you already are, but those are extremely important to follow religiously! They are things like watering early in the morning, and infrequently, and don't fertilize when condition are present for brown patch (night time temperatures that don't fall below 70, and have a lot of dew, etc.). Comments (52)Hi Mike and everyone, Been away awhile, but badly needed a Citrus Forum "fix" during this historic winter! When I checked in, the first post I saw was a "name this pest" sort of question, and I said "That's CLM!" Lol, when I first came to this forum, I didn't know what a kumquat was...or a perched water table. This is a great place.... The rosemary oil is great! I have a key lime that the spider mites just won't give up the ship though. Even so, their occasional attempts to re-appear are feeble at best :-). I love the rosemary oil aroma, and I'm not concerned about spraying it in the house during winter if that became necessary. If you remember, I tried never putting my trees outside and it's been working for me, so far. SO....More snow on the way! I always said what "sold" me on citrus was seeing a ripe kishu mandarin hanging on my own tree, in my own window with snowdrifts in the background. Wow, I was sold! Comments (21)Hi Debbie, Try not to worry that your Blues aren't coming now. I really think this is normal. They know where your nesting box is... and they won't forget where they get their worms. They leave us missing them for awhile, but they should be back. And btw, we usually let the Carolina Wrens and the Nuthatches take a few worms. We love them too and always delight to see them up close. Our Blues always get the majority of them. :) We use 2 little bowls mainly: One is for suet nuggets which we leave out most of the day. All our Bluebirds stop by for 1 or 2 nuggets at various times of day, and several other desireable birds (Mockers, Wrens, Nuthatches etc) also grab these. The other bowl is for mealworms which we feed 2 or 3 times daily. It's rare not to see our Blues come at these times, but we're not seeing them all at each feeding now like we did earlier in the season. We're preparing to miss them for awhile soon. Oh, there is a 3rd bowl which we fill randomly with suet, seed, fruit, peanuts or whatever... ha it's a Today's Special kinda thing. Hope you see yours again soon, and often. Comments (64)I too have had chips in my Ceasarstone counter. The first time I called to have them come and fix it I was told that chips are not covered under their life time warranty and I would have to pay for a technician to repair it. What really makes me upset is how difficult it is to get them to set up the appointment. Ceasarstone asks for irrelevant information like "batch number" of your colour when that has nothing to do with the repair.....They take days to get back to you and they charge a ridiculous amount of money to do the repairs! I have been advised by the company that sold me the counter to just do the repairs myself.....not sure if I can colour match it though. You would think that after thousands of dollars on a counter they would have a better after market repair service especially as these counters do chip....See More

I don’t have shops close to me, so I buy the majority of my fabrics on line. However, when I do go to a quilt shop, I always buy. Trying to do my part . Just yesterday, I was on the other side of town and so I stopped by a very, very small shop that is mostly modern fabrics...spent too much, but oooh the fabric was so much prettier in person - had to get some!
All linens...Jungle by rifle paper company, forage by noodle head and balboa, not sure of designer. These are not meant to go together but just too pretty not to share.msmeow
