Comments (14)lafonda_ranch: Thanks for the tip about the piping. I ended up ordering 3 yards for the two cushions and the valance tie backs which I'm hoping should do it. I noticed I could not order partial yards and so over estimated since I would be working with stripes. marrilyn: My bedroom set is from JC Pennies. We've been happy with it, though I know some hear on this board have been disappointed with the quality of their furniture. I really like the shallow top drawers in the nightstands and dresser--as it holds lots of odds and ends....See MoreMy Daughter's Master Bedroom Redo
Comments (26)Thank you! Natesgram, the curtains were ordered from an Etsy shop - sources are listed at bottom of article. You can look it up by her name. They are lined, and can be used on a rod, but she wanted to use clip rings. it's a Waverly fabric, light weight. We actually used tableclothes for the curtain fabric in the nursery - but had them lined. They are SO heavy. But even so, she added blackout liners behind them so he sleeps better. Someone said something about the curtain rods - Target, their brand I believe. Same finish she used in nursery, but has different finials....See MoreTrying to rework my master suite hallway
Comments (81)This thread has devolved into analysis paralysis. You have a wonderful plan and C is the obvious choice. Is it perfect? No, but no plan is. Does it meet your needs. Yes, and then some. I think the venting over the grill is no big deal. Yes, you might need to maintain the vent, keeping lint down to a minimum, but that's not a bad thing. Also, make sure the hallway is wide enough to pull out the washer/dryer for maintenance. You should have enough room to pull one of the machines out completely and room for a person to get to the back. That probably means you need a 4ft wide hallway. Also, make sure your hoses are long enough! We have front loaders with a countertop and had too short hoses. It was a major pain getting behind the machines. Ours pull out very easily. Oh, one more thing. We have emergency shut off valves for the water and the gas in an upper cabinet above the machines. We've never had to use them but you never know....See Morecombining rooms for a Master suite
Comments (12)Where are the windows, what does the exterior look like. What is the exterior materials? There are lots of things to consider beyond what has already been mentioned. Using a local single practice architect might be a really good investment if you can find the right fit. Using the large rooms would allow you to fit a nice bathroom and a a nice sized closet, but if using those I'd suggest doing as suggested above and move the dividing wall in the other bedrooms to get two equal sized bedrooms. However if using the two smaller rooms it wouldn't be as spacious of a suite with as much closet space, but it would potentially be more economical depending on plumbing access. Much less impressive though for selling the house. The small bedroom would become the bath and the closet would be turned into all master closet and you'd keep the larger of the small bedroom ones as is for the bedroom and add a door in where the entrance is into both those bedrooms....See Moreteneca clark
