bsmith, this is an ideal time to transplant in the Lowcountry. The soil rarely freezes and the root system can begin to establish itself now, before the stress of hot temperatures come to your area. Do not top prune prior to transplanting, use a sharp shovel to chop the G. radicans from the existing location, don't add any amendments to the planting hole, and mulch well with pine straw or wood chips. Be prepared to water occasionally throughout the winter, spring, and summer, especially prior to the threat of freezing temperatures.

I seem to recall that you're in S FL, treimink? In that case it is really too late for cucumbers till the fall. Any fruit they produce is likely to be riddled with pickleworms. ETA The pickleworm moth lays tiny eggs in the flowers which become encapsulated by the fruit as it grows. So you get fruit that looks beautiful from the outside, but which is crawling with creepies when you cut it open. It's one of the main reasons why people down here usually pull cucurbits after the end of May.

I don't know what to tell you.... I have not been able to get strawberries to make it a whole year here.... but I don't think it is the heat.... I think it is some kind of insect.... not sure if it is chili thrips or maybe it could be wire worm .... I have both..... However, my strawberries are looking their best right now.... so I think it would be ok to transplant them.... they might spend some time putting in roots instead of making berries though... good luck with them.

the usual suggestion.. is to transplant after bloom ... to not interfere with flowering with a lot of stress ... as to when you give up and decide they arent going to bloom .... is left to you ... at some point.. you just want to get the job done ... so you do it .. and not worry about flowers ... when you do go for it... why dont you plant some in the ground ... and then next year.. see which perform properly ... never forget.. the most important thing in a pot is the media.. not the plants... so get a good media for the pot.. and the plants... they can vary wildly ... even without flowers.. its a nice impact with the foliage .... ken ps: other reasons for flower failure may include.. improper fert .. or none.. too many plants in the pot.. improper watering... which can be a function of worn out media that isnt moving water properly thru the planter.. etc .. i bet you are going to find out all kinds of things.. when you disassemble the whole pot .... the hard part will be figuring out what it all means.. lol ... and we will be around to help ....
