Hi everyone! im trying to select a single tree to accent our front yard. We live in Pasadena California where it gets quite hot. I’m looking for a tree that provides year round interest (even in winter), doesn’t create too much of a mess (definitely no sticky droppings that ruin your car parked below), and long bloom time. I like the idea of a majestic beauty that doesn't go bare, but the brilliant red leaves of the autumn blaze in the fall are so appealing. Any thoughts? Will the falling leaves and empty branches of the autumn blaze make me regret not getting a majestic beauty? Does one require much more maintenance than the other? Please help!! Thanks in advance!

The other would definitely be a better choice for Pasadena.

Curious; is there an alternative to the autum blaze pear that has the same brilliant color changes (white flowers, green -> red foillage) without the drawbacks of the pear?
