Help!!.baby mouse found in laundry room, laundry now piling up:)
Comments (4)If you are that freaked out by mice and can afford it, hire an exterminator. If you can't afford it, set some humane traps. NOT A STICKY TRAP. The sticky traps are horrible. They severely torture the trapped mice, and also torture the human that put them out, via guilt. No matter how much you hate mice, if you have never seen a mouse or other creature on a sticky trap, believe me, you don't want to. They are stuck to the glue, and are absolutely frantic, trying to escape. They end up tearing their own skin off and breaking bones in the process, adding to the agony. They finally give up out of exhaustion, dehydration, and injury, and death comes slowly and painfully. I hate rodents, and certainly would FREAK if they were inside my house, but I would never subject any creature to a death like that. By humane traps, I mean one of two options: A snap trap that will kill them quickly, or a trap that will allow them to crawl inside but not be able to escape. Then you have to take them somewhere and release them. Probably not high on your list ;) An exterminator will do this for you. But again, there is a cost associated. The advice given about finding the spots where they are entering is very good. Mice can get inside via a hole as little as 1/2" wide. Comments (17)I'm sorry you've hit a snag with your counters. I hope new slabs can be found that you like as well. I don't see how they can do that wrap thing if you're finding it hard to explain or even find a photo that is exactly what you mean. How can they template based on an idea?...See MoreI messed up, please help!
Comments (29)If it is dormant prune it right before it comes out of dormancy. Maybe February where you're at. To leave a lot of nodes on it, maybe prune high say at 4 feet. It will still be a small tree, and you can prune it however you want after that. A note on my photos, my tree was a troubled tree. I pruned it down and only one branch came back. So I made that a new central leader, headed it etc. Well this cold winter killed that central leader and I was back to ground zero. 4 branches sprouted just above the graft. I decided to leave them as low scaffolds and that is what you see now. the tree has been planted for 2 years now. A major difference I see is the new scaffolds are a lot thicker than the first year. As the roots were fine. So developing a root system for a year made a huge difference in caliper of branches. Here is a photo at the end of the first year. Notice the new central leader is smaller than this years scaffolds. This year's scaffolds are twice as thick! Developing a root system first is a major, major good idea! So if all goes well you will have much better scaffolds than you do now. they will be thick and strong! Here is direct evidence of what developing the roots can do for you. Again compare branches here in the first year, to those in the 2nd year. All branches in 2nd year were started in 2nd year. So twice now I have had to redelop this tree's structure. If I get dieback this winter, it will be less. The scaffolds are way too thick to dieback....See MoreNeed help with Laundry/Mud Room set up
Comments (4);) The "base cabinet" on the plans isn't set in stone. Really the only things unmovable at this point are the washer/dryer and electric panel behind the exterior door (on the same wall as pocket door). I'm leaning towards cabinets above w/d, a handing rod with bench below, and a broom/vacuum closet next to it with shelves or cabinet above. Maybe a retractable drying rack above the bench? What do you think's a comfortable width for the bench? 18" doesn't seem wide enough--though only one person will sit at a time....See Morem_gabriel
