How I can put (not hanging) small plastic pots to my veranda wall
Comments (5)Parakalo John. Wow! That is an amazing photo. I keep thinking, how do you water it all? I think the previous poster mentioned some good choices. I can't think of any other way to put them up that high and that many without hanging some sort of individual round pot holders into the wall. If you're going to do many pots in a pattern like that, I might use a pattern to my plantings, as well. Like, all the same plants in the pots. Or similar colours. Sorry, I don't know what grows there in Athens. At the very least, you might also want to consider having plants with the same watering requirements planted together, so you can manage watering all at once, too. (Not one today, then another then next day, etc.) Another question I'm wondering is... are you trying to make the wall more colorful or hide the wall so to speak, or do you want all those pots hanging? If you are trying to just cover the patio wall, another idea might be to hang guide wires in a pattern (diamond or square or just straight up and down) and plant something on the ground level that would sort of climb up along the wall. Like a trellis but much larger. Like a jasmine or an ivy or something else that will creep and fill in the pattern. Good luck!...See MoreCan I put drywall compound on a painted, textured wall?
Comments (6)If you can fill small dents by dabbing in the compound, then yes you can do this - compound sticks fine to paint. I have taped new walls to existing painted walls many times. If you want to fix the joints and feather them out, then your husband is correct - you need a smooth level surface. Even a single screw head sticking up 1/64" will mess up a finishing job since the taping knife hits that bump as you are finishing. That is why I always scrape my surface level between coats - any little chunk or bump raises havoc. For tips on finishing drywall, see the site below. Comments (6)I have a fair amount of art that I collected over the years, some expensive and some not. But every time I visited a friend, who studied and worked in the art field, I always felt I didn't have much art. Her home was filled with art on every wall, from the floor to the ceiling. It worked in her house and was an amazing collection to look at. I could never live with that much art on the walls. All that to say, that each person will have their own perception of what is too little or too much when it comes to art in their house. But Gary is correct, do not go out and buy stuff just for the sake of filling up walls. Take your time and get things you like, better still, things you love....See MoreWhat can I put on the walls or next to the tv?
Comments (15)I’m thinking the TV needs to be mounted about 6-8” below the window with a lower side to side 12 to 18” floating shelf or very wide simple sofa table of some sort that can have baskets or odd-shaped containers below. Plants or artwork reaching up along the sides of the TV...something to give the TV a wider framing as it’s a bit small. For drapes if you must have them, I’d do floor to ceiling subtle colored to disappear into the wall. If glare is a problem, maybe inside window pull downs....See MoreJudyG Designs
