Murrysmom- you've just given me an idea for a gift for DH. He is handy with tools but we don't have the specialized ones you need to do this kind of work. But there is a workshop in Philly that has classes - I could get him one. Thanks for the idea.

Picture from 1942. My uncle who served during the war. His nieces and nephews surround him. Of course I did not take this. I am the smallest one in the group.

Gold ring. No it’s not on the right finger. It’s a long story. However I’ve had this ring on my hand for anout 50 years. It’s gold and was purchased for me in the UK by somebody I loved very much in my 20s. I subsequently married somebody else… but I’ve never taken the ring off, in the way that you take jewellery off and put on other things. I don’t consider it a piece of jewellery… it’s a symbol of the bond.
