roman shades mount/lift

Looking at roman shades from online retailer. Based on my understanding, looks like I will have to do an outside mount as the window is not deep. Thinking of adding a total of 2 inches to width of window (one inch wider on either side of window). My concern is that with a traditional lift mechanism the headrail is 1 1/2 inches deep which seems reasonable (it would sit about one inch out from face of the window mounding). The cordless mechanisms make the headrail 2 inches deep. While I would love to have the blinds sit as close to the moulding as possible and I am worried if it is 2 inches deep (1 1/2 inches in front of the moulding) it will look odd. Any thoughts?
