Leak from shower causing major issues

We bought our flat last year, and generally it was in good nick. After a few months the sealant in the shower started to show signs of damage but - because we were in the throes of wedding planning, and because we're idiots - we have only just got someone in to look at it.
One of the legs propping the base up has broken, hence the sealant being oulled away from the base. There's a lot of damp and fungus under the shower. The guy who came round has said we should let it dry out, and he may then be able to fix it up without having to take the whole shower out.
However, it gets worse... I moved some furniture in the room next to the bathroom today, and found the water seems to have made it's way through - as shown in the photo. Miraculously there's very little sign of damp/mould inside the room, however as you can see it has completely wrecked the wooden panelling and damaged the skirting board.
So my question is.... how much trouble are we in here? Is this going to require major structural work to the wall?
