Raven, have you used that oven, or one like it yet? I've been wanting an air fryer, at least I think I do, for some time now. Something that I can air fry or bake in. I just refuse to turn on my oven in the hot summer, yet occasionally there are dishes I would like to make that need to be baked. Reviews on most of the air fryer-ovens are so mixed, I'm hesitant to get one. Would love your thoughts on them!

I watched it on one of the TV channels like QVC. I thought at this price it was worth a try. It will be great for the motorhome. And I think it would help here by using the big oven less. I will be glad to report after using it.

I have two 50% off Ace coupons. Tomorrow I'll go shop Home Depot with them. Dh is installing my island range hood. He needs parts. I've got my eye on this cute oven by Viking. I'd like to find it on sale somewhere....

I had been thinking about getting another cordless vacuum since my Bissell quit charging a few months ago. I miss being able to grab one for a quick swipe through the kitchen after dinner or other quick sweeps. I researched other models and found Home Depot was having an early sale on the Dyson which is top rated. And at $101 off, it was the best Black Friday deal offered. So it is on the way.

It seems the stores succeeded in their bait and switch.. All the claims of early black friday DEALS--in reality today there are different, deeper cuts in many things.

I wound up at a shoe store black friday sale yesterday and did quite well. I had bought a pair of shoes from this store last week and paid full price but wanted to try on the smaller size which they didn't have and so ordered it in for me. I went back yesterday as they had come in.

From last week to yesterday every pair of shoes was on sale and if you bought a second pair it was 50% off the sale price. So they recharged me for the pair I had already bought which were now 20% off. The second pair was originally $140, on sale for $80 and then half price - so I paid $40 for them, a discount of $100!. That was a pretty good score for this shoe store.

ETA - I posted this on another thread by mistake and just moved it over here. I do love my new shoes and my deal. Vancouver retail stores started Black Friday sales a few years ago to keep shoppers from heading across the border and it seems to be working.

any other great deals through the weekend you have found? I saw on zulilly (which I have never ordered from but I know is reputable) they had easy spirit slip on sneakers that looked good but as usual, I am unsure of sizing so it's not quite a bargain.

I just got Hulu for 99 cents a month for 12 months. I probably won’t need it longer than 12 months - mostly wanted it to watch The Handmaids Tale. I just bought it today so the deal is still good.

I look at Hip2save.com every now and then to see what deals are out there.

I treated myself to an expensive down comforter from Company Store. I got 20 percent off. Not a huge saving, but enough to make me tap the Buy button.

Well, I got brave yesterday and ordered the same Farberware air fryer oven as Raven did. It was $59.00 yesterday, still pretty good bargain, I think. It should be here on Dec 5th. I'm pretty excited about it! It's probably my first ever Black Friday weekend purchase! And only once in my life have I ever gone to a store on 'Black Friday. It was back in the early 80's if I remember right. I got about 5 feet inside Walmart's door, turned around and went right back home, vowing never to try that again! And I haven't!

I took advantage of a couple of Macy's $7.99 after rebate deals: got the soup pot with steamer insert for my daughter, a cast iron grill pan, and the Belgique blue soup pot for myself (so pretty!). Last year I got an immersion blender, coffee maker and small slow cooker on the same kind of deal. Also got a set of flannel sheets from Target for myself ($9), and a couple of clothing items for my daughter's Christmas gifts.

Some of your bargains tempt me to go take a look, but I should restrain myself. Raven, thank you for recommending that i get a Chromebook. I was going to wait until I have my eye appointment on Wednesday, but then Black Friday and Cyber Monday came along. I bought a Dell with an 11.6" screen (I think I'll do better with this size rather than larger) for $120 (reg. price $200), and an $8.99 Logitech wireless mouse (reg. $19.99) to go with it.

I thought I'd go blind looking for a bedroom TV on Black Friday. Lots of bargains on big sets, but I wanted a 32" model. Didn't need "smart," but eventually realized non-smart TVs with 1080p resolution don't exist anymore. After a friend said the smallest of his TVs is a TCL Roku smart model and his family is very happy with it, I looked into that brand, which I'd never heard of. Found it has a good reputation, so I bought one. Amazon had the lowest price: $149.

The 99¢/mo. Hulu deal is still good, but today is the last day. I'll probably sign up, although I never seem to use streaming services enough to make them worthwhile. At $12 for a year, though, I won't have to use it a lot. ;-)

Alisande, I was on the hunt for a 32", 1080p TV also. And, I also didn't need a "smart" one since I already have Roku. I did find some non-smart TVs, but for the same price as a newer model. Read many reviews and discovered that there are few well rated 1080p sets in that size (some were rated as having worse pictures than a 720p set!) . I seriously considered the TCL and Samsung. Today I ended up going with a well rated 720p LG, because after discounts/coupons it came to only $119.

Then my DD came over with a 43" LG that she had gotten a great deal on -- 4k, active HDR, etc etc for $240. It looks enormous compared to the 26" that I am upgrading from. I will try it out, but I am keeping the 32" until I decide if I like such a large unit (or that it isn't worth the extra $120, to me)

Raee, you started the thread about looking for a TV recently, I think. I was wondering what you ended up getting. I remember liking the LG picture when I saw a bunch of TVs in a store a while back, so an LG is what I was aiming for initially.

You will see a big difference between the 720p and the 4K! I say that without ever having seen a 4K, because I'm familiar with the difference between a 720 and a 1080. It's dramatic. As for the size, I can tell you this: I had a 32" set on my living room wall for a couple of years, and although my son said I might enjoy a larger unit, it seemed plenty big to me. At some point I decide to move the 32" set up to my bedroom and get a new one for the living room, and I chose a 43" Hitachi. I love this TV! My living room isn't very large, but the TV doesn't overwhelm it. The size seems just right. I predict you'll feel the same. :-)

I am using the oil less air fryer oven tonight for dinner. I will be cooking fresh cut French fries and 2 center cut pork chops seasoned with Blackened seasonings. I have a small green salad to go with that. We shall see how we like the new oven. It is not quiet since it has a blower fan to disperse the hot air but it is tolerable. You can only use the rotation basket alone but you can use 2 cooking trays at the same time. I am trying the basket so I will do the pork chops after the fries.

ravencuajun, I am anxious to hear how you like the air fryer. I almost never fry anything except eggs and bacon (and stir fry) but it sure would be nice to be able to make oil-less crispy potatoes and other things.

The potatoes should have cooked longer but are very tasty.

I have to say that rotating basket is not easy to clean. So I will probably use the trays more than it.

I cooked the pork chops on top shelf at 350 for 20 minutes. They are perfect and tender.

That pork chop is beautiful! ! If it tastes even half as good as it looks, it is over the top delicious! !

When I ordered my air fryer, I was told delivery would be 12-05. So I didn't even try to think of where it was going to live. Then last Weds I got an email saying it would be delivered on 11-29. It came yesterday! So today I've been rearranging some countertops to make a home for it. Hopefully I will get to try it out tomorrow! ! ! I just might have to make a trip to the store for a pork chop! ;^)

The manual says to run it on high heat empty to give it chance to burn off any whatever might need buring off, did that take very long?

I did that at 400 for 20 minutes as it said in the manual. I set mine on a cutting board on the island. I had the ceiling fan on for air circulation. It really didn't smell very much or smoke.

The pork chops were excellent, very juicy and tender and tasty. I used a little Emeril's Blackened seasoning and a little sprinkle of garlic salt.

Hint put a piece of aluminum foil on the crumb pan in the bottom! It gets messy.

I did the fries with the fries button in the basket. They were cooked but needed to go longer to get crisp. I think they will get crisp easier on the pans. They tasted really good very natural.

I cooked European bacon this morning in the little oven. It turned out great. Nice crispy edges and juicy.

This oven does have a flaw, the loose nut operating it!

Decided to do some sweet potato fries I had in the freezer and was getting it ready to go. I had read a review somewhere that the rotating basket is difficult to remove and was anxious to try it, as that is a feature that really appealed to me. Was double checking the instructions when I noticed the line that says do not put any foil, etc, on the crumb tray, or line any part of the oven with it, it could cause overheating. I had already put some foil on the crumb tray, so I took it out to remove the foil. Set it down when my phone rang. Finished call, finished loading the fries in the basket and then into the oven, got it going. Walked away to get the leftover chicken ready to warm in the microwave. Went to check oven, stood there admiring it for a few minutes, and noticed no crumb tray in the bottom, but a fair amount of crumbs on the bottom. Oh well, no damage done. And they wiped up easily after it had cooled down. But that basket is a pain to remove! Or is there some trick to it I'm missing?

I think I'm going to like this air fryer oven a lot. It does make some noise but not all that bad. And the outside of it does get hotter than I had hoped it would, but not nearly as hot as my old Oster toaster oven did. And I'm sure it is more economical to run than my big oven is. I love things like roasted root vegetables, but rarely make them, I hate running the oven for just a small amount of anything. So this will give me more options in my cooking for just me.

And the sweet potato fries were very VERY good! Nice and crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. I used the basket setting, but upped the time from 15 to 20 minutes, as per the book instructions for 'thick' fries. They were the waffle cut. I'll try them on a rack next time, mainly because that basket is hard to remove. Or maybe I just need practice.

P.S That bacon looks very good! I didn't think to take a picture of my fries, I was too anxious to try them! And there was no stopping after that first bite! But they looked just like regular deep fried sweet potatoes.

See that's what happened to my fries lol. Are you pressing on the red button on the oven to release the basket? You have to get that handle in there just right. Lift up the with the handle and push the red button to remove. I keep a towel and my mitts handy.

I didn't see that it recommended not putting foil on the crumb pan. I have use some every time. Not on the pans though it would block air flow.

I cooked beer brats in it tonight and they were awesome. Better than normal.

At least it is when it is cold and empty. May be forced to have some fries for lunch. You know, just to be sure. . . . . . . . .

I just made fried potatoe chips in the air fry oven. And remembered to take pictures this time. They are very crispy. I did them on the pan this time not the basket
