Flooring Design Dilemma Bathrooms

Tile size for very small shower

Hi everyone, Our shower will be super small, around 30 x 36 inches. I am debating between 1x1 or 2x2 porcelain tiles for the shower floor. Given the small size, will the pitch of the floor, for draining, be less sloping and would that call for 1x1? Or is 2x2 still OK for this small size shower and the slope of the floor. Thanks!

Either size for the shower floor would work. But I would go larger for the shower surround, e.g. 3 x 6 subway tile or even 12 x 12's. Mosaic tile for a full surround, even in a small shower will look rather busy.

Thanks Sabrina. Yes, I meant the floor. I will do white subway probably on walls. I'll edit my post so it's clear I'm only talking about floor. I don't know if my pitch will be steeping given the small footprint and if so if that warrants smaller floor tiles.

These are 12x24s in a 5x3 shower. The back wall is 5 feet. The middle accent tile is right at about a foot (just over). This is before Grout, obviously, which is being done today! (The picture appears a little distorted since my partner took a series of pics on the phone and "seamed them together" which some sort of app. But that back wall is flat). sleevepresto, A floating vanity gives you some under cabinet storage while giving a more spacious feeling to a small bathroom. I thought about adding rope lighting below mine to highlight this, but I decided it might be too busy for the room size, and that would defeat my primary design objective. If you need more storage, could you incorporate additional between-the-studs storage besides the medicine cabinet? I bought two between-the-studs medicine cabinets that look like picture frames, but I'm not ready to use them yet. They're for my master bath remodel. They're very expensive, but very nicely made. We have carrara floors (regular square 12 x 12), white vanity top (Ceasarstone Organic White), glossy white on the shower walls (Porcelanosa) and used a striped grey/black on the shower floor. We are currently using a white shower curtain. We love it. The room is approximately 6 x 10. At least one person on GW thought it was "too busy", but we think it's pretty calming actually (we both hate "busy").

The Lowes guy didn't suggest cutting down the 16x16 to the size you want, then maybe using the extra for trim? That's the first thing that came to mind.
