Need advice for living room paint color!
Comments (7)I probably wouldn't do red in there, but that's mostly because I just painted out the red kitchen, the berry red master bath, and the terra cotta hall bath in my own home. I'm into more grayed shades right now. I just used Behr Rope in my hall bath. It's kind of a grayed green but also reads blue where I put it in a bedroom. I'm doing Ben Moore Ashwood in my Master bedroom. I love it on the blog "For The Love of a House" in her living room and reading room. It's much paler than I usually like, but I'm in a paler frame of mind these days, especially when a not-in-your-face color is on the walls and windows and the furniture is darker or stands out more. I love your home, your contemporary furniture and the other colors you have chosen. You guys have great taste and will find something that works well in your living spaces. I'm not a huge fan of contemporary, but in your home, you've done it very well! Beautiful. Comments (3)Agree their is good wood and bad wood. How high are your ceilings? I just recently painted my office ceiling a test coat of BM San Antonio Gray. The walls are SW High Reflectance White. I absolutely love the tension between the darker ceiling and the bright white walls. It reminds me of the sky when it's still sunny out but the sky is turning dark as an impending storm is moving in. For me it works but maybe not for everybody. Our ceilings are 9' high....See MoreDining & Living Room Color Paint Advice Needed
Comments (30)Can I also second getting a local color consultant to come to visit this very pretty home? I have also had tons of luck calling the SW color line (and its free!). They helped me out of a color jam a few years ago and just recently again. I painted my outside trim SW Fleur de Sel. It was a mistake. It can read very blue-gray. I was heartbroken but it was too late. Now I needed to paint my front door and it needed to coordinate with my reclaimed orange brick and now this odd trim color. My husband wanted a yellow and wanted to pick SW Sunny Day. I about cried. The SW phone line came to the rescue (with no pics nonetheless) and suggested Colonial Yellow. It looks fabulous. They have been so nice on the phone every time. Now I have not had the same luck with BM phone line, but did use one of their local home consultants once and it was a pretty good experience....See MoreNeed advice for painting my living room walls. Comments (118)We lived in Ukla (I may be spelling it wrong) but it was a little town outside Brussels. We didn't want to live in Waterloo where most x-pats live because we wanted to improve our French and we loved that little area. We spent Sat morning walking to the little shops for first Chocolat!! Then breads, then flowers, then meats, etc. etc. It was glorious! Looking forward to seeing more pictures!...See Morehollybar
