Chrome vanity lights with Stainless Faucet

I am looking for vanity lights for a bathroom project. My faucets are stainless Steel (Delta Trinsic). My mirror would be beveled frame-less mirror placed horizontally. My counter-top will be Praa Sands Quartz with white sinks and white vanity. My dilemma is whether the vanity light (chrome finish) would go with my stainless faucet. See all the pictures below.

Stainless steel (Or brushed nickel) do not go with chrome most of the time. Perhaps try matching with your existing fixture finish.

Im not sure I agree with that. I've noticed in most model homes, they are mixing metals everywhere and it seems to be fine.

Here's another vote for chrome. I have it as a finish on my faucet at our lakehouse where we have soapstone countertops and sink. I think it looks timeless and don't have any problem with upkeep. I have had "chrome look" fixtures in my bathrooms which were hard plastic with a silver finish and they were a nightmare to keep nice looking. They were always spotty and the finish rubbed off if you tried to clean any grime off them. If it's real chrome you shouldn't have problems. I have a stainless sink in my kitchen here at home and went with a stainless faucet (installed about 7 yrs. ago, before I knew of this forum.) Wish I'd gone w/ chrome here, too, as the 2 stainless finishes are different in hue, and it has always bugged me.

Clady do you really think ORB is going to look dated in the future? The reason I ask is because I think it looks old and that's what drew me to ORB in the first place - b/c to me it looks like something you'd see in a old house - something timeless...but maybe you are right and it's just a trend? My house has black hinges, ORB door handles, my kitchen cabinets have ORB pulls, and all of our lighting/ceiling fans are either black or ORB...so all the finishes are dark throughout my home...In my kitchen I have a SS sink and facuet and SS appliances and I think it looks fine mixed with all the dark... My master bath has silver finishes on the faucets, tub, shower - but everything else (doors, lights and accessories like TP, towel bar etc.) will have the dark finish. If it looks okay in the kitchen I think it will be okay in the bathroom. We haven't started our master bath yet - but I think once it's done it will be fine to have both finishes. Same scenario as you Clady - don't have the experience to change the plumbing and I don't think it's worth the expense.

I have brushed nickel hardware but went with a chrome faucet. One of the reasons was price, I really like the Grohe Bridgeford pull down, but the stainless version was out of reach financially. After looking around for a while, I decided I like the chrome better anyways, it's like a bright jewel at my sink. I had decided that if I was going to go with my back up choice, Delta Victorian pulldown, I was going to get it in chrome anyways, even though the SS was more affordable. It just came down to personal preference.

A quick search on Houzz will show lots of pictures with mixed finishes. The first two below have ORB light fixtures and chrome/brushed nickel plumbing fixtures and cabinet hardware. The last picture has chrome plumbing fixtures and ORB light fixtures and cabinet hardware. IMO all these combinations look good. I am typically a "matchy/matchy" person but wanted chrome plumbing fixtures in my house and prefer ORB light fixtures to chrome light fixtures for some reason. So I have spent hours looking at pictures with mixed finishes and reading design blogs/home building forums and have come to the conclusion that there are no "rules" on this and it is really a matter of personal taste.

I agree stainless steel or brushed nickel. Do not mix chrome fixtures with stainless steel and brushed nickel fixtures. It wont add contrast nor will it match. It will just clash. I do somewhat agree with Linda. I do see people mixing the color of their fixtures and in some cases it does look good. I have never seen anyone mix chrome and stainless though. 2 different sheens in 2 different colors just does not look good. If you opt for stainless steel or brushed nickel. Just be weary of the brand. Some brands like grohe, brushed nickel has a yellow hue to it, but others like Delta does not. So just keep that in mind when looking.

Mixed metals means a real mix, not a near MISS. Satin Nickel for the light. Chrome looks best with more of.......itself.

This is Brushed Nickel light. Would this go with the Stainless Steel faucet above instead of the Chrome? Thanks (The light is what I need to find--I cannot change the faucet)
