Please help... major case of analysis paralysis
Comments (18)Thanks so much for all the input I've received.... i really appreciate all of it!! Les917: Yay! another vote for the panels.. when we measured that is just what we did- a little over the edges of the window. Ahh yes, the piano - the piano was on the wall where the curio is and vice versa for about 10 years so when we ordered the new furniture, we thought we'd change it up a bit, but hmmm maybe we should put it back the other way??? the piano bench should have been tucked under the piano a little more- its not as tight as it looks when DD puts it back where it belongs..lol yes the mirror does have to go.. there was a table under it before the new end tables came... the mirror will go back above the table where it is now on the upstrs landing..I'm hoping Santa will bring me an oval mirror (from ballard designs) that I've been eyeing for over the piano, what do you think about that? Not sure what i'd put on the wall where that mirror is now if i dont move piano back around???? So many questions... that's why I feel paralyzed by any new decisions.. thank you for taking the time to answer my post.. i've been lurking here for a while and you are, as graywings suggest, a master at furniture arrangement and more!! Does the oval coffee table need an oval centerpiece or can any shape.. rectangular or round go on that piece of furniture??? Not sure what to put on that table?? Graywings: Yes the mirror is going... thanks.. doggy says,"thanks"! Chris8796: The fabric I really liked was solid with a tiny pindot and a shade or 2 darker than the walls.. I am seeing the seamstress on Wed. to look at the fabric again an i will ask her to sketch out both a long rod and 2 shorter ones.. Thanks so much. Bigdoglover: Yes the drapes will be full length.. thanks for your kind compliments.. I value all your opinions and wish you all a peaceful and healthy holiday season... I will post more pics in January when the drapes are finally up! Thanks again.....See MoreBlizzard-induced analysis paralysis re: window seat fabric
Comments (16)Thank you all! @busybee3, you're exactly right - the swatches do feel like little paint chips - the more I look, the more indecisive I feel! I have tried amateur photoshopping to see how any of the options would look but it's hasn't helped me make up my mind. That's presumably because as you all have pointed out, neither of the finalists are quite right. I've got a swatch that matches the couch perfectly (Sunbrella Heritage Mink). However, it's feels like a canvas-type Sunbrella, and I was hoping for something with some texture. Off to order a whole raft of new swatches - luckily our snow emergency has extended another day so more time to ponder!...See MoreCountertop Analysis-Paralysis, now Granite/Corian?
Comments (2)Thanks for your response, Oldryder. This is the area in question, the lower part. My concern is would it be difficult to remake this in Corian or quartz? It doesn't need to be so rounded. Would quartz be in danger of cracking? Would either one be too heavy? Would a fabricator built a new support structure for it underneath? The Blue Pearl would be on the top part, the white Corian or quartz on the bottom. (I would also want to run a white mayching backsplash up to the granite, and I know I would need to pick a new paint color, lol)....See MoreAnalysis Paralysis – window shades & transoms
Comments (21)Wanted to give an update so this isn't left hanging and maybe this info will help someone else at some point. justerrilynn what you said about 'not messing with the feel of the room' really struck a chord with me and made me re-examine the reasons I wanted woven wood shades. Being honest with myself it's because I see them everywhere online, every blog, every designer's portfolio, pinterest, insta.... 90% of the time with white curtains. It's a great look and one that works in a lot of settings but that's not a valid reason to play me, too. Plus it's a little too 'of the moment' IYKWIM and will change the focus of the room. Decided to to a test run on only the 2 windows flanking the TV because that limits the loss if we hate it and we can always order more if we like it. DH installed them yesterday and I think we've hit on a way to attractively and easily cut glare when needed and not compromise the look of the windows when shades are up which is 98% of the time. Thank you for helping me get there!...See Morebellabell
