Comments (15)Look for hotel supply places that sell internationally. It is more common elsewhere that hotel rooms put the complimentary shampoo and body wash in wall dispensers in the shower rather than supplying those dinky little plastic bottles of the stuff. Less waste and less stuff going into landfills. http://www.guestsupply.com/catalog.aspx?id=cff1b722-e7be-45b2-8d3e-91392a36f175&mc=5&sc=09&search=0 http://www.soap.co.za/dispensers/dispensers.htm A lot of places sell in the half gallon size for body wash like the Aveda Rosemary mint body wash: http://www.aveda.com/templates/products2/ spp.tmpl?CATEGORY_ID=CATEGORY10601&PRODUCT_ID=PROD5904 Here is a few gallon size body wash in some nice scents: http://www.instawares.com/entiere-jaboncillo-body-wash.wcs-201.0.7.htm#gallery Here is a link that might be useful: Wall Mounted Shampoo Dispenser...See MoreForm and Content: shampoos and stuff
Comments (6)You've reminded me... below are examples of what I keep thinking I am going to do, wall mounted. As it is, there are ten million shampoo and body wash containers in our shower. And I really really agree, I'd rather have no tops with which to deal. Just push a button and there it is. I see why I am really thinking about it. It's kind of expensive! Comments (33)Since I have multiple kind of shampoos/conditioners that I like to rotate rather than use straight through, coupled with small bathrooms, I do not store them in the shower. I get whatever I want to wash my hair with, take it in, then take it out & put away when I'm done. I dislike a shower that has a bunch of bottles of product. Also I only shampoo my hair once or twice a week. My DH always uses the same shampoo, and he shampoos his hair daily, so his stays in the shower. We have a wall niche and a small tiled-in corner shelf. If we didn't have those, I'd sequester the bottles in a plastic bin or basket that could drain and keep it in the corner on the floor. for the bathroom that has a shower/tub combo (as opposed to just a shower) i let the kids keep a shampoo, a conditioner, and a soap along the tub edge (this was before we installed a niche). Anything additional sat on the floor in a plastic basket....See MoreWhy am I finding glass etc in my potting soil?
Comments (49)Yeah, that type of contamination wasn’t really on my radar when I originally constructed the beds. But a couple years ago, mostly because I was concerned about possible lead contamination from my garage and potential leaching from the concrete blocks I used, I bit the bullet and spent a substantial sum for a heavy metal analysis. The soil appears to be uncontaminated, so in that respect I’m not worried. Toxcrusadr, exactly. And what drives me crazy is that our drop off site has several bins for trash, yet people still throw their garbage in with their tree and brush trimmmings. So frustrating! As to my root barrier, what I am gradually doing is digging a 3 foot trench (with a trenching shovel) around the edge of the beds. I then put sheets of 3 x 3 aluminum on the side of the trench closest to the beds. After that I put in several layers of bricks to hold it in place and as an added deterent. The remaining space between the bricks and the soil is filled with a mixture of rocks and rock salt, and then the soil I originally displaced. I really wish that I had done this when I made the beds (they are sunken hugel beds so I had already dug them out to about 3 feet when I contructed them). My issue is red cedar trees, which the former owners planted in wretched abundance. We have removed the ones in close proximity to the garden, but even the ones at the other end of the yard will creep in. The roots can grow at least a couple feet a year, so until this is finished I’ll be digging out roots for a while....See MoreElmer J Fudd
