I can't tell what color the turtles are, and thought they were navy blue. LOVE the fabric! Is the second pic with the desk your room, or are you showing us your future desk? Do you have other upholstered pieces that this needs to work with, or are you buying new? That would be my only concern, but I'd want that chair, too!

Sure! Build the room around this chair that you love so much. It's easy to pick a new paint colour if necessary; I really can't tell on this monitor. The chair is adorable in form and comfortable, the print is unique without being over-the-top plus it reflects a genuine interest of yours, and look at how the design lines up across all the different faces of the chair; that is a nice job.

We have a bench that is the same wood tone as desk, but no upholstery to compete. Desk and bench are coming back into our den from cleaners. (We restored after a fire)

Honestly I don't think it's 'out there' at all. Classic chair shape, very workable colors that can work with many others and an interesting fabric. So... it's turtles! I like it.
