Kohler farmhouse vs. Shaw farmhouse sink
Comments (5)I’ve had a 30” Shaw at a second home for 10 years and still love it but decided on the 33” Kohler Whitehaven for our new kitchen reno at home - it was such a price difference and looked so similar. I actually like it better! I especially like the slight slant of the bottom to the offset drain. Much easier to rinse scraps into the disposal. It’s still new but it does seems like the Kohler finish is easier to keep clean. We removed the Kohler logo (which was crooked anyway) so it’s just all white and looks great!...See MoreIs your farmhouse sink base cabinet 'bumped out' ?
Comments (8)Hops, thanks for responding! I really like your sink and other elements in your kitchen! I'm glad you shared the photos with me. I do like how the bump out looks, and the pretty feet too! Anybody else willing to comment or share your photos about the bump out? I'd like to see photos of famhouse sinks without the bump out too. Thanks, Terry...See MorePossible to put slide-out trash under farmhouse sink?
Comments (4)Usually a farmhouse sink is about 10" or so tall, the cabinet is roughly 30" so, that's about 18" to 20" of height. Not much to work with, but do-able. You might want to check out IKEAfans.com. It's a message board that has a lot of adaptable ideas in their Modifications board. Check out the link. It is a scanned picture from an older book Better Homes and Gardens Kitchen Idea File published in 2003. It looks like they connected the two doors to make a single solid door and made a type of large pull out drawer. Good luck!
