Could I use fabric grow bags & coir-based potting soil to move hostas?

Still in a preliminary stage here. Going to officially put my place here on the market in 1 week, as I still have some home handywoman cosmetic measures to fix. I hope it sells very quickly so I can finish purchase of Baltimore place. Was wondering if I should dig up hostas & heuchies now before snow/freezing. And, was wondering if could use some of those fabric grow bags with handles, filled with coir-based lightweight potting soil, to move them. They look like they'd be easy to carry and the coir-based soil is said to be lighter than traditional potting soil. Do plants in those bags dry out very quickly? Could they survive a winter on a patio, in the lee of a wooden fence or glass patio door, in such bags?
