Kitchen refresh advice
Comments (17)I agree with @JAN MOYER. the light floors need to be paired with a lighter countertop. I also agree to go to the stone yard and “shop” around. Bring samples of flooring and paint ... Take pictures of what you like I also think removing the microwave and doing a hood vent will make a huge difference in the space. And if you want to take this to the next level I would add more cabinets up to the ceiling. But not necessary. I’d also change the hardware. But that’s at the end Also, backsplash should come last. At the very end. When the entire kitchen is complete. So don’t think about that yet. Great space!!! Lots of potential here. Sit down and find some inspiration pictures that you absolutely love. (They should have the light flooring in it to make it easier for you) And come up with a clear vision and have fun at it!!!! ❤️❤️...See MoreBefore and after kitchen refresh.
Comments (3)I see now. You have two threads going on the same topic. The ”after” pics in the second thread show a definite refresh. But, still no vent hood over the gas range?...See MoreHelp visualize a kitchen refresh
Comments (4)With different colour appliances (white and stainless) and your black countertop, I would bring everything together with white cabinets top & bottom, black or bruched nickel hardware, and a stainless steel range hood. You seen to have a lot of items on those open shelve so I would suggest you replace and ad cabinets on the stove wall as shown (you need to replace the one on the right for the proper height you want). On the window wall, I would continue the metro tiles from counter to ceiling going around the window. You can place a vintage runner rug with brown-black-beige (Ruggable goes in washer/dryer), a black pendant above the sink, and bring in some brown to coordinate with the flooring on a natural fiber roman shade and countertop accessories....See MoreKitchen Refresh Help Needed - Existing Creamy Woodwork is Bossy
Comments (16)@svanflicka, I would definitely check around for other quotes. When my ex-husband and I built our new home, we had the enitire house painted for about that much and it was almost 3000 sq ft. I am sure we got a bargain as we found them through a friend. There are painters out there that are not with huge companies with overhead etc. I would really dig deep into finding someone from word of mouth or just investing on your own. Then meet with anyone you find an check references. I promise you that you can find someone to do the work for far less. I feel you will not be as happy as your working around something and giving into things (colors, counterops etc) that you do not love just bc of your trim etc. I would really take your time and think through it all. Spending all of that money and time, I would want you to be overjoyed with making the choices you want and not being made to just settle due to keeping and try to work with the trim color you have. I am not sure where you are in the process, but I would take a breather and really think this all out. In the long run it will worth it. Editting to add, you can always just slowly start with the trim in certain areas (like the kitchen) and take your time in painting it all. I know you will be happier. I have been in a similiar situation before and after all was said and done, I wanted to kick myself for not taking more time. Your spaces are going to be gorgeous! It sounds like we both have a very similar taste in design. Amy...See MoreJudyG Designs
