I sell Kemper Echo, which is the same thing as Vibe. The big difference between Echo and "regular" Kemper or Diamond is that there aren't nearly as many possibilities within the lower priced line. Fewer doorstyle. Fewer colors. Fewer combinations. Soft close on doors and drawers isn't standard, it's got to be added. You can't do an integrated door panel on the end, you have to add a 3/4" door panel separately if you want that look, and that interferes with the overall length measurements of the space. There aren't nearly as many modifications, so doing things in it is more difficult, and sometimes, impossible. And the specs are 3/8" vs. 1/2" for the sides. I have done several kitchens in the line that turned out beautifully. One is currently being installed as a matter of fact. But it does involve more creativity in some cases than a more full featured line. Also, once you start adding in the upgrades, the price starts to rise to the same price as the full featured lines. So, you've got to trim your want list if you're going to fit into the line comfortably. Or else up the budget for the full featured line that has the features you want in the first place. .

In my opinion, the 5/8" thick drawers are fine! With the smooth drawer guides today, a 3/4" thick box doesn't make it function any better. It's more of a looks and feel thing. Back in the olden days, when drawers were "wood on wood" or had poor drawer guides, a strong dovetailed drawer box was very important. Not as much today. A 5/8" drawer box is fine. I've heard that that 5/8" is going to become the new standard. There is one difference between Shiloh's 5/8 and 3/4 options though....it may or may not be a big deal to you. But the 3/4" are finished nicer. They are sanded better and smoother and have a clearcoat on them after they are assembled. With the 5/8" thick boxes, they are cut and clear coated and then assembled...which makes them not as smooth. Does that make sense? Most of my clients, upon seeing both options, go with the 5/8" due to the $ savings. A small minority go with the 3/4 upgrade.

I agree with smalloldhouse on the RTA cabs. Barker might be a good quality at a cheaper price, but not a great solution if you don't have the time to assemble. My husband would have killed me if I ordered RTA cabs :) I have said this before in another post because I just researched cabs myself. It seems like there isn't a cab out there that people are not complaining about. Pick 2-3 cab makers you like, compare the specs & go for it. I read another thread where someone basically said mid grade cabs are generally the same (except for what Adorion said - make sure you are comparing apples to apples) and to buy from someone you like & will help you through the process. Not sure if that is helpful. Reading reviews for months will make you nuts and will paralyze you into no decision at all. Who knows what some of these people are doing to their cabs that are writing reviews?? I have had builder grade cabs for 20 years!! And there isn't one thing wrong with them, except that I hate them :) I know a few people who have medallion & are happy with them (except the silver line for reasons stated above), my dad got Starmark without a minute of research & they are really nice.

Where in PA? If near HB, check out Swartz kitchens for Shiloh. They did well on pricing for the painted cabinets. Lowes and Just Cabinets did almost the same on the Medallion brand , which are Schuler at Lowes. KM was best at the big box for me, due to the sales they often have. The Masterpiece just did not compare in quality to the others and the pricing was about the same. I live in York county and the private dealers I dealt with did not offer the best pricing and were not usually as receptive to my input.
